Indystar posters obsessed with Patriots

So they're obsessed with the Patriots... but you're here making a thread about them. Does that make you obsessed with their obsession?

Be careful what you post here about the Dolts fans, Ryan the ballwasher and frontrunnerballbag, aka, Yankees/Colts might get their panties all in a twist and hit you with their purses..............

I think I would rather have had us lose to the Chargers because the Colts would have been murdered by them.

No way man. The Chargers fanatics would have been lording it over us even worse than they do now on their messageboards. Right now they are at least in denial. If we hadn't knocked em off, they would be in full blown steroid rage right now about how they "own" the Pats.

I can handle the Colts fans, most of them are rather reasonable people who understand that their team is on top but still on the short end of the rivalry stick.

Its the delusional Chargers fans that are the worst. They think they still have the best team in the league after losing their entire original headcoaching staff, being knocked off by us in the playoffs on their own field, and after making very few moves to improve themselves this offseason compared to us.

I was on the Indystar forum just before the Pats played Indy in the AFCCG to trade shots with Colts fans. I couldn't stand it for more than 30 minutes. Anytime a legitimate football comment was made, most of the replies came back either questionning Brady's sexual preferences, calling BB the devil, or so pathetically unreadable due to bad spelling and basic grammar mistakes. It was kind of disturbing. That's just my impression of the Indystar.

I am still laughing at the idea that they can't understand why Pats doesn't have a #1 WR. In their minds, it seems there is only one system and there MUST be a #1 WR.

I obsess over the Colts. I hate Peyton. I'm not ashamed o admit it. I hate that whole team, including Polian and yes Dungy.

Nor do I believe that the Chargers would have beaten the Colts. The Chargers have a faux QB and they had a horrific offensive coord. in Camreon. The Colts on the other hand had guts, and they played heady football, and they were the best team in the league last year. Granted, I still suspect that D was all smoke and mirrors, but the Ravens, Patriots and Bears didn't have decent offenses which could have exploited that bad defense.

Why are they obssessing about us? Didn't their all knowing GM say that we were done?
They should be basking in the afterglow of their Super Bowl.
Polian said that our run is over...so it was written, so it shall be done.

So they're obsessed with the Patriots... but you're here making a thread about them. Does that make you obsessed with their obsession?

Yes , one thread based on an observation makes me obsessed. Maybe if I started several threads ( like I was commenting about ) I would be qualified as obsessed.

Most all of them are pretenders that started watching the chargers last year. Every response to anything is " nine pro bowlers". I wonder what will happen to the old chargers if they get a little injury bug. Imagine if Lt had to miss three or four games. I wouldent be worried about Merrimen.... That juice monkey got owned all day when we played them.

Oh don't get me wrong. Indy certainly has some deluded, arrogant fans. But as a whole the Chargers fans are MUCH worse. That's all I'm saying. :)

I think we would be talking about the Colts a lot if they were making all the moves instead of us.

Agreed

The Colts have spent the past 3 years loading up for one big run. How that they finally got the monkey off their backs, we're seeing the first signs of wear on their roster. Rhodes and Harper are gone. June to follow. The team is as close to cap hell as you get in the new CBA, and they are short a draft pick. Meanwhile, not only the Pats, but the Broncos and Jets upgrade too.

The Colts have never really loaded up for anything. Every year the resign their own, they let a few walk and they try to draft replacements. They have signed a guy here or there, but most would not be called high profile, if they are even on the radar for most people. Losing Harper and Rhodes is somewhat typical of a Colts offseason. Just look at last season. Both of those guys' spots have replacements waiting.

To be fair, Pat fans have infested other boards, in particular the Indystar Colts board, ever since xxxvi, much moreso than the reverse.

Half the threads you see there were started by Pats fans (& trolls) and most of the others by Colt fans trolling their own...:D.

True, true, true. There were so many trolls that many good posters left and never came back.

So they're obsessed with the Patriots... but you're here making a thread about them. Does that make you obsessed with their obsession?

The irony.

I am still laughing at the idea that they can't understand why Pats doesn't have a #1 WR. In their minds, it seems there is only one system and there MUST be a #1 WR.

Well...the Colts don't either.

Agreed

An observation does not make one obsessed. Once again , there are times when there are more pats threads then colts threads on that board. Not anything close to that on this board. Or any of the others for that matter. Seems like all they talk about is the pats over there...................

The Colts have alot more reason to be obsessed by us than we are them.

We had a gut punch game this year - they have had double the pain.

It probably doesn't help that they are allmost outnumbered by Patriots fans on that board, though the competitive part of me is amused by a rivals board being over-run.

Currently, on page 1 on the Indy MB is a post about Peter King, and some sort of "Gay Brady" reference. Thread author is a PATS fan.

No other NE threads are on page 1

On page 2, "Jilla" authors a thread about BB. She is a Colts fan, but IIRC, her second favorite team is the PATS  I believe she is from the NE area.

Continuing, WillHunting, another Pats fan, authors a thread about the Wes Welker deal and an "investigation" surrounding the trade.

Down further, we have a thread about Pats not interested in Moss, authored by BigChowd. Guess which team he follows??

A day ago, mouthofthesouth, a New Orleans resident, Saints AND COLTS fan, started a thread about Stallworth. After the many signings and additions to the club, this would seem like a topic that might be of interest. Mouth was actually invited by the Colts to attend a game in Indy (I believe post Katrina, but surrounding that catastrophe).

It goes on.....

There are/have been many threads about the Bears, and their post season debacle, and of course, Raven fan is still around, wanting their team back.

Admittedly, the Pats are the second most talked about team on that board. Brady, BB, and the success of the Pats (especially versus the Colts) has made you our number 1 rival. I know NE and Fins go WAY back, but don't kid yourselves, Colts are in Pats fans heads just as much as vice versa. Those two teams are the cream of the NFL crop, and it appears it may continue for some time.

Good luck in the upcoming year, especially to BB in trying to sort out that muck at the WR slot.

;)

EDIT:

And no, we are not outnumbered there. But feel free to come around when we whip you in '07. Funny how a victory keeps the trolls at bay!

First thing I noticed: a post claiming we are like the sox or yankees trying to buy a championship (clearly dont understand there is a salary cap and they spent more than us last year).

Second thing: Half the posts end with "Go, Colts!"

Haha, I saw that. I guess they dont understand we dont have a cent more money then they COULD have................ Hmmm Salery cap = impossible to "outspend" anyone else. I bet if you asked them about the salery cap, they would tell you how great Manning is, and how they didnt get owned for the last six years (since they won this year). Seems to be the answer for everything.

Yeah. I've had an account on indystar since '04. Its the place to be, really. I like vbulletin forums.

Good post. I've been a member of the indystar board since 02 and lurked there for several years before that. It used to be a good place to talk football. However, after the pats won the super bowl in 03, it got invaded by hordes of pats trolls, to the point where most of the decent posters left for other, more moderated boards. The star finally broke down and appointed some moderators but, by then it was already to late. Now, its kind of a joke, even among Colts fans. So, if you want decent, Colt's-related football talk, the star is NOT the place to go.

If you want a good laugh, check out the thread entitled "Report on Addai". It was started by a pats fan who called himself bobsports4. Bob claimed to know several people in the pats organization, as well as others who worked in the league. In that thread, he claimed that an nfl "scout" told him that the Colt's were REALLY missing Edge and that, in his opinion, Addai would never be more than a good 3rd down back and that the Colt's would regret drafting him.

Turns out, bobsports4 was just one of his aliases. He also posted under the name "3efinpoints". When he posted as bob, he acted like a decent football fan, only interested in talking football. When he posted as 3efinpoints, he was just another loudmouthed troll. He would post something as bob, then reply to himself as 3efinpoints. It was hilarious. When the mods were appointed, they noticed that both posters had the same ip address and outed him. The folks there have been having fun with that thread ever since.:D

Ive been at indystar over 4 years. Most of the trolls come and say some bs .02 and leave without returning. There are a few pats fans that have my repsect for their opinions. The others are just stirring **** to make themselves feel better. This is a nice forum for the most part. IMHO MMMkay?

"Go (any team)" is the sports equivalent of "Seig Heil!".

Ryan is a class poster. Nothing wrong with him.

Regarding Yankees/Colts, to quote The Godfather, "Ummm....we won't be seeing him round here no more". :)
