He can opt out of his contract this offseason. I'm sure you guys wouldn't want him in Boston though, amirite?

All set ... no dancing with the devil and he would never come here ... he likes the spotlight ... maybe he will be a Laker.

Wait. So if LeBron signed with the Celtics, you wouldn't be happy? That's a bold faced lie.

Why is that so hard to believe? I wouldn't want him in Celtics green either.

Maybe because he's the best basketball player in the universe? Maybe because he just won two titles in a row? Maybe because he won the second one with the clinching game-winning shot in Game 7? You'd rather watch the Celtics wallow in mediocrity than sign the best basketball player in the universe? Again, it's a lie. I believe that you are saying you wouldn't take him right now, but if Boston became his landing spot that whole area would have to change their boxers/boxer briefs/whitey tighties.

I think it would be like Yanks fans with ARod.

When the Celts won, the fans would like / love him. When they didn't win, the fans would pile on him.

All of which I'd be fine with. :)

We got great basketball fans here, I personally don't think the majority of us want him here, we would rather beat him. Kind of like Bird, he plays the right away, so we would love him if he were here. But, honestly we don't want him

Fans of any team don't want a supremely talented rival until that rival becomes available. A good example of that here was Randy Moss when he was with the Raiders.

As for the Celtics, they haven't done a very good job of beating him over the last few years. They are going to have to get A LOT better in order for that to happen. I think the only reason most of you are saying that is because you know he probably isn't going to come there. If he was interest, the entire region would want LeBron in Celtics green. He's the greatest player in the world today. You'd had to be ******ed not to want him on your team.

I would say Randy Moss was different because he was not a rival and the Raiders didn't want him.

Would we accept LeBron, yes. Do we want him right now, honestly the answer is no. I go to my fair share of games and we're not a city that likes to buy a championship like this. We're not like NY fans where it's expected the star would sign for us. we like a bit more grit

I know I sound hyprocritcal because we got Garnett and Allen, but it seems different than getting LeBron. They had something to prove

Wrong...Lebron didn't win 2 titles in a row...His team did....Lebron didn't do **** when he was the man in Cleveland just like Pierce didn't win **** until Allen and Garnett came along....Lebron is a great player (even though I can't stand the prick) but all this Lebron did this and that is horse****....He was a part of a team that won....

You must be kidding.

Who else did LeBron have in Cleveland? That team went from the one seed with him there to the worst team in the NBA with him gone. They were awful. But you're right. The Heat as a team won those championships. LeBron, on the other hand, hit the clinching shot in Game 7. He spearheaded these titles as even his teammates and most people without a bias would tend to admit. But he still needed a solid all around team to do it. Just like Jordan.

They did trade for both of them, rather than signing them. (Not sure that matters, but it was different.)

I would take him on the Celtics in a heartbeat. The NBA is not what it once was, all it is now is getting 2 superstars and a bunch of role players. If you can get the best player, go for it!

Maybe LeBron might like to play in a real sports city with actual fans instead of fraudville Miami.

You must be kidding.

I'm not sure if you ever lived in Boston, but our mentality is a bit different. We don't have the NYC mentality where buying players is expected. We want to win, but we want to be competitive, it's a great sports city.

If LeBron decides to call himself a FA and he says he's open to go anywhere, I don't think you would see us lining up after him like a NYC or LA would.

I was born in Boston and lived there for several years of my life. I also have a lot of family still in the area. I'm very familiar with the mentality of the sports fans. I'm not sure if you've ever been outside of Boston, but the world doesn't revolve around it and the mentality of people there is very much like the mentality of the rest of the sports fans lined up across America.

The only reason you guys weren't lining up after LeBron the first time around is because you already took on the contracts of the Big 3 (a trade is irrelevant since you still had to pay them) and were still in that era. Now that the team is in the toilet, I would have a hard time believing that, should LeBron opt out of his contract and Ainge pursue him, there would not be very strong interest up there.

First of all I think LeBron is the best player in the world (even though I'm not a fan) and can be on that Mt Rushmore. He plays the right way. Would i be happy to have him here, yes, do i want him here, no. It's weird, i know, but if he says he's open next year, i don't think we'll be after him. We kind of want to beat him more than we want to win with him. I know this makes no sense and it's strange, but it's what i believe.

We already have 2 azzholes on the team ... I don't think there's room for 3 azzholes.

We already have Rondo and Wallace ...
