Browns promoted Ray Farmer to GM, have let go of Michael Lombardi and are having Joe Banner transition out of organization in next 2 months.

Ok then Cleveland.

OT: More Browns Implosion - Banner and Lombardi Stepping Down

NFL network reports that Ray Farmer will be promoted to GM, Mike Lombardi is out, and that Joe Banner will step down as President and COO over the next 2 months.

Only 1 stooge left, and he owns the team.

LOL,

And you wonder why nobody wants that head coaching job.

What a trainwreck that franchise is. Which is really too bad because they've got some really good pieces.

Re: OT: More Browns Implosion - Banner and Lombardi Stepping Down

Maybe Lombardi wanted to trade for Ryan Mallett.

Seriously, I could see Lombardi not buying into Johnny Manziel, and Haslam deciding he wanted a GM who did. This could also impact on Bryan Hoyer's situation, as Lombardi was the guy who pushed Hoyer last year against resistance from Banner and Chud.

its strange that it too haslam less then 2 seasons to leap frog dan synder as worst owner in history

There goes 2 1st round picks for Mallet.

Damn the bad luck.

Hes running the Browns like a truck stop.

The sad part is that division is ripe for a changing of the guard, but the Browns can't get out of their own way to take advantage of it. By the time they sort all this out, Pittsburgh and Baltimore (who have much stronger organizations) will have rebounded and will bury them again.

Agreed. The Browns were a good football team with Hoyer at QB. (3-0) They have a defense and the best WR-TE combo in the league. I still think Manziel could make them a playoff team. Maybe the firings were over disagreements of what to do with the #4 pick.

Lets offer them This year and next years First for Josh Gordon. Seriously Gordon is closest thing to Megatron out there. We would set at WR for quite some time.

Mayoclinic made a good point. Probably ends any chance of Mallett to Cleveland.

The Texans owner wants Manziel, BOB reportedly doesn't. The Browns owner wants Manziel, maybe Lombardi/Banner didn't.

With the passing of Al Davis a few years back, people who would replace him as the worst own in the NFL. Everyone assumed it was Daniel Snyder, but Jimmy Haslam looks to be the new favorite. Between his legal problems and their front office shake ups, this organization looks more dysfunctional that the Raiders ever were.

If am a Browns' fan, I am hoping Haslam goes to jail for a nice long time.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

2 first round picks for a dude 1 piss test away from a year long suspension.

LOL

If I'm giving up two firsts, I better be getting Earl Thomas, Luke Kuechly, or JJ Watt.

I would argue that recognizing a poor hire and being proactive about it is good management. I don't know enough about the people involved to know thats the case, but you can certainly learn a lot about an executive in a year.
I know Lombardi has not been impressive from my vantage point.

My wife had the misfortune of working for her cousin Joe Banner for the 5 year period in the late '80's/early '90's when he took Dad and Mom's thriving business and turned it into a defunct business. My only surprise here is that Haslam took him on in the first place; showed me right then and there that Haslam doesn't have it as a new owner, but these things can change (h/t to Andy Johnson). Banner's claim to fame in the NFL came with his high school buddy Jeff Lurie. How he lasted as long as he did there is beyond me (I guess having Andy Reid run their team as successfully as he did, and Ralph Banner's cash infusions to Jeff, made Joe's BS easier to take), but word is they are no longer on speaking term.

Having "walked in the wilderness" of having my own favorite NFL franchise wallow in seemingly unending decrepitude for too many years in the '70's - '90's, I feel total sympathy for the Browns fans. No fan base deserves that (well, maybe only only one **cough**Jets**cough**).

Seems pretty clear that's what was happening. The Browns owner wanted to use the #4 pick on Manziel. Lombardi was pushing to trade the #4 pick and Jordan Cameron for the #29 pick, Ryan Mallett, and Stevan Ridley. The Browns owner thought it was as crazy as it sounded, and was upset when he found out Lombardi was posting about it on Patriots fans websites under an alias..... :p

Seriously, what a mess of an organization there. Feel bad for Cleveland fans having to deal with that.

Sure, and we should also offer this year and next year's 2nd round picks to Jacksonville for Justin Blackman.
