...“I didn’t think it was my place to go above the heads of leaders on the offensive line or talk to my coaches about my teammates,”...

...He said verbal abuse from teammates included “comments of a racial nature, sexual comments related to my sister and my mother.”...

...After Martin left the team and Incognito was suspended, Incognito did his own TV interview and showed text messages from Martin that also included vulgar language.

Martin said in the NBC interview, “I was trying with all my being to do whatever I could to be a member of this culture and of the offensive line.”...

Miami Dolphins? Jonathan Martin: I didn?t want to be a snitch | www.palmbeachpost.com

Color Omar Kelly unimpressed. Check out his twitter posts from yesterday:

Incognito responds:

...But Incognito never felt in any danger because he saw them as “banter between friends, not bullying,” Schamel continued.

Furthermore, Martin pledged to send someone over to Incognito’s home with a “tranquilizer gun and sandpaper condoms” to rape him, Incognito’s attorney claims. Martin also threatened to ejaculate in Incognito’s face, Schamel continued.

All of these explosive messages have been provided to Ted Wells, and will presumably be included in his report on the Miami Dolphins’ workplace conduct scandal...

...Furthermore, Martin told Incognito back in October that he was upset about not playing well and his demotion to right tackle, Schamel said. Martin apparently was also missing team meetings and was concerned that his job was at risk.

“It was only after sharing these concerns, and Martin’s abandonment of the team, that the bullying allegations were raised,” Schamel added. “Rather than deal with his poor on field performance and myriad other issues, Martin is now hiding behind false allegations.”...

NEW YORK: Attorney: Jonathan Martin sent threatening and lewd messages to Miami Dolphins teammate Richie Incognito - Miami Dolphins - MiamiHerald.com

So, get your popcorn ready, because the post-SB report and consequences are going to be something to watch.

Fine by me. I hope he works out a deal with the Pfish to cut him with a settlement, and we can pick him up on the cheap. He'd make a great LG.

Stanford graduate, eh? That's what the Harvard of the West is producing these days?

my new philosophy is "EVERYTHING has jumped the shark"...

While I find the idea appealing I wonder if that’d be making a deal with the devil that could come back to bite us, if Martin can’t handle some smack talk can he hack it in an NFL locker room? Is he going to cause a media incident every time ribs him?

I don't think BB would take Martin on his team if Martin paid for the privilege.

That's what I would say about Incognito, but not about Martin.

I think BB would take Incognito before Martin. I think probably 28-30 NFL teams would take Incognito before Martin.

Martin is a p-$$y, he also sucks as a player. I'll take Incognito in a heartbeat. Him and Mankins would bully DTs all season long. Move Connolly to center and you have a great OLine. Better than paying Mack elite money.

I think BB wouldn't take either one of these clowns.

He was as big or bigger than Incognito. You stop the abuse by kicking the guy's *****. Or at least the attempt gets broken up and it earns you respect with everyone in the locker room. Then it stops.

If Martin couldn't take the trash talking in his own locker room. He must have been suicidal after the trash talking that happens every game. He doesn't have the mental toughness for any spot on our roster. And may even have a mental issue best addressed by professionals. I wouldn't touch him with a 10-ft pole.

Unless you mean Incognito is the one you want to pick up. In that case, no thanks. He's a...jerk. To put it nicely.

Mike, What are your instincts telling you on the Pats interest in Incognito? The idea of a Mankins/Incognito Guard combo just seems like a nasty 1-2 punch for our interior line which suffered in our playoff loss.

Nick, I think we can safely say that one is "dead on arrival." No chance.

Agreed on both fronts. And while a team that needs OL would probably give Martin a look over (they'd probably give anyone a look over if they think it would help), every team is going to be apprehensive about bringing him aboard. With Incognito, outside of the negative publicity concern as as unfathomable some fans may think this is, his attitude is not exactly an unwelcome thing in Linemen circles.

Some may feel it's unfair to Martin (believing he's a victim) but he did break that 'inner circle' thing in a way that just isn't going to go over well with teammates and players. Almost no players got behind him for that reason IMHO...

Absolutely not. if you can't stand up for yourself then you aren't playing OL for any good NFL team. I wouldn't take him if they gave them cap relief for it.

Due to the Ahern incident and life in the Age of Obama I don't think Kraft would touch Incognito if he were Steve Hutchinson reincarnated.

right after this all broke, Martin texted Incognito and said that he didn't blame Ritchie or the other Dolphins, that he just can't deal with the NFL and locker rooms anymore.

Incognito is no Saint, but it is Martin who is the real nutjob here. He found a convenient excuse to stop playing football and still get paid.

Just talking about what goes on in the football game: Incognito is a better player than Martin, though he's not really a top-tier guard. Further, he's a risk for a personal foul on every single play. There's a reason he's not a St. Louis Ram anymore, and there's a reason he'll be an ex-Dolphin soon.

Add to that the off-field stuff - and it's not just the Martin issue - I think there's no chance the Patriots would touch him.

fresh apples off the draft tree...or damaged, bruised and rotten ones from the NFL scrap heap....hmmmmm....tough choice
