Miami Dolphins' WR Mike Wallace: I should've had 15-20 more TDs

Say what you want about our receiver core, and I agree with a fair amount of the objections towards it. However, I'm glad that none of our guys are this selfish (or at least, openly so).

He is a one trick pony. Those don't get "15-20 TDs" unless you are a freak like moss ect

This guy was a total idiot in Pittsburgh, and I found many of the comments last offseason that "we'd be strongly looking at Wallace" to be some of the most amusing comments I've seen on the board in years. The odds of Belichick thinking for one second about paying 12m per year to a WR like Wallace were about as good as him having Wilfork play QB.

Wallace is a fine choice for 1/2 that money at 6m per year. A possible argument could be made for 7-8m like Victor Cruz, but even that's pushing it. Anything over that just points to teams being idiots, and fans playing too much Madden on their playstations.

It is MIA we are talking about here

OP - Patsfan2: "I think we should Break the Bank for this guy he is a proven WR already beat us in a SB. We Drafted his buddy in the Third the same year he came out. I think Nicks would be Super paired with Edelman and Dobson. Until we get Elite players on Offense who can stay Healthy we will NEVER win another forget about winning...make it to another SB. The Time is running out on Tom Brady"

15 to 20 MORE TDs? Suuure.

That article is such ****:

Wallace's boasts are entertaining, but it's not completely crazy, either. He has the speed and playmaking ability to be the NFL's best deep threat. Will he ever challenge Randy Moss' record of 23 touchdown catches in a season? That's extremely unlikely, but he has the ability to do much more than what we saw in 2013.

So it's not completely crazy but it's extremely unlikely? Sounds contradicting to me. So Wallace thinking that he could catch 20-25 TDs a year (being modest about it) isn't "completely crazy?" Since 2010 his YPC has gone down every year (from 21 to 16.6 to 13.1 to 12.7 last year). He doesn't have the height to win the jump balls routinely although he does have speed to get behind a defense. But when that's your only strength, it can be accounted for. And easily in the NFL, assuming you have a decent safety playing deep.

I'd say 5 more making for 10 just like he did in Pittsburgh he's far from a complete receiver like he's being paid for.

I'd just say besides him there's far greater problems in Miami so it'll be interesting to watch them next year.

What's his cap hit next year? 17+ million?

Miami will be wearing this collar for years to come, and since Wallace is so humble, I'm sure he's ready to restructure, lol.

3/12/2013: Signed a five-year, $60 million contract. The deal contains $30 million guaranteed -- an $11 million signing bonus, each of Wallace's first two base salaries, and $3 million of his third-year salary. Wallace is eligible for annual workout bonuses of $50,000. Another $5 million is available through incentives.

2014: $15 million
2015: $9.85 million
2016-2017: $11.45 million
2018: Free Agent

Wait...Hakeem Nicks can stay healthy? That's news to me

So 2014 is his O year.
....2015 is his U year.
....2016 is his C year.
....2017 is his H year.
....2018 is his ! year.

If Mike Wallace was as good as he think he is, he'd be Calvin Johnson. Wallace is an undisciplined, one trick pony. He was a perfect fit for playing school yard football with Roethlisberger where he would hold onto the ball forever until Wallace got open. He is not a good fit any other system.

And there were people here screaming that we should sign him, if I remember right.

I'll take Antonio Brown or Manny Sanders.
