I think we should Break the Bank for this guy he is a proven WR already beat us in a SB. We Drafted his buddy in the Third the same year he came out. I think Nicks would be Super paired with Edelman and Dobson. Until we get Elite players on Offense who can stay Healthy we will NEVER win another forget about winning...make it to another SB. The Time is running out on Tom Brady!

Nicks cannot stay healthy and he was AWFUL this year, a year in which he should of had his best performance. No thank you.

we need a durable receiver,

Is this is a joke? I'm sorry, I can't tell if you're being serious or not. It looks like you are saying we should break the bank for Nicks because he's a good receiver that can stay healthy.

Wonderlic score:11.

Not happening.

BB said on WEEI that he sees the rookie WR's making a big jump in year 2 and he is counting on them next year so who knows.

Nicks was battling injuries last year. When healthy, he's phenomenal. I would take him or Sanders, easily. That said, Sanders may have an easier time coming into the system than Nicks would.

And who do you guys have in mind???

Thank you Kontra.

No.

The physical tools are obviously there. But there are issues. There reports of Nicks being late for meetings, and questions of his dogging it last season. He had 0 TD receptions last year, and 3 in his last 30 games.

It could be a question of his physical health. But I'd be very careful about investing anything significant in him without a darn good understanding of what makes him tick. As a really cheap signing it might work, but that's not likely. I'd rather have Riley Cooper or Jeremy Maclin given the issues.

I think it is funny that we collectively are ready to give Danny Amendola the boot after one season, yet at the same time are so eager to sign a player like Nicks that has three touchdown receptions over the last two seasons a contract.

Having had a good game against the Patriots is not necessarily the most important benchmark to determining whether or not a free agent should be signed.

off the top of my head, Aaron Dobson, Kenbrell thompkins, and Josh Boyce.

We dont need new recievers, we need beet O-linemen.

If we break teh bank for anyone on the offense side of the ball I needs to be on the interior OL.

And what of they don't? If he is being truthful then this leads me to believe they are not going to go out and get a good receiver. So next year it seems like it will be more of the same.

I think BB is blowing smoke this Team need Weapons and Offense and Currently we have none. Denver and Manning showed what having weapons means.

he seems to be injury prone IMO. I hope the pats don't go after him. Watch the stupid contract he will get from some team

I dissagree jim this Team had a chance to get a really good WR in FA 2012 that was the WR Galore Free Agency. I wanted Pierre Garson former Colt now Redskins. BB passed on quite a few Elite WR's which included Vincent Jackson we singed a bunch of scrubs that year. 2012 was as good a year to take the plunge. Garson was almost 1400yds receiver last year. My Point, Nicks might be the Best FA WR available this year whether we like it or not. The AFC is not going to be any easier in 2014 we have to keep up with the Jones's.

I doubt he'll get the contract most are expecting him too, given what's been reported.

I hope that stupid Team is US Rookie WR's are NO gurantee in this Offense. I gave Dobson a B in his Rookie year. But Thomkins and Boyce gets a Incomplete not much to go on in year 2.

Absolutely, "break the bank for him," and then sign Lawrence Philips, he's a beast. That would give them an All pro WR and a future HOF RB. Go for it Bill.

I would not say that the team could not benefit from an upgrade at WR, because they most certainly can.

However, they also need to look at DT, DT, C, RG and TE; there's also a decision to be made at CB. Paying big bucks for a WR means some of those other positions are going to be manned by players that probably shouldn't be starting.

Upgrading WR is a splash headline type of move, but in my opinion not the one that would have the most positive impact on the 2014 season. Case in point would be just 11 months ago, when so many from this forum felt that breaking the bank for Mike Wallace was the smartest move that the Patriots could make.
