Has anyone noticed how Brady's playoff performance has declined since his SB years? He has rarely come up in the clutch for us since 2005. Is he getting a free pass now because of those 4 early years?

2005- Throws near pick 6 and loses vs Denver

2006- Throws 3 picks vs Chargers and gets baiiled out. Loses 18 point halftime lead and throws pick to end the game

2007- Mediocre game vs Chargers. Only puts up 14 vs an average Giants defense despite having the record for most points scored ever.

2009- Lays an egg vs Baltimore at home

2010- Repeats the previous years performance vs the Jets at home

2011- Only puts up 17 points vs Giants and throws a critical 4th quarter INT

2012- Awful game vs Baltimore

2013- Gets outplayed by Manning and misses crucial deep balls to open receivers

The offense averaged 17.8 PPG in those 8 losses.

It's not pretty, that is for sure. But there have been other problems too.
That said, Sanchez, Flacco and now Manning outplayed him head to head.

With all the deep shots today, it looked like the Pats were trying to take a page from Flacco's playbook. Might have worked... if they had Anquan Bolden on their team. :)

By free pass you mean he's "gasp" human? He had a hell of a year and dragged the team on his back in mid season and early through motivation to keep trying and not blow off the season.

Maybe instead of a free pass, fans should look into themselves to see why you expect otherworldly performances every year like it's your birthright.

Manning and the Broncos outplayed Brady and the Patriots and that include O Line, D Line secondary and just about every other phase of the game.

I guess if you want to look at Brady like some comic book super hero because he got off to a fast start in his career, you need to worry about a "free pass". But if you look at him as a human and all the incredible wins against Denver N.O Cleveland and more, trying to work in rookie receivers and make uo for an incredible amount of injuries, including working without the TE duo which happened to be th strength of the team.

Someday, if some fans stick around, you'll get a "free pass" to see what it's like to have a quarterback that's downright crappy and be grasping for straws early for any reason to keep watching or rooting for the future. Maybe then you'll appreciate Brady.

Believe it or not, some teams don't get to within a game or two of the Superbowl every year.

I think everyone appreciates Brady. EVERYONE that truly supports this team.

But, yeah, the fact is TB has had some mediocre performances in big games...

Just think, had TB hit Edelman in the first half (play-action)
and Collie to end the half...we're talking about a completely different game. And the fact is, every "big" game there are three or four throws that TB hits and the whole game is different.

True story.

he plays like he's overly obsessed with his legacy and that 4th championship and psyches himself out in the process.

SO, should we be content with TB playing coinsistent football until a championship game and then be happy we got there when he plays bad???

I don't get it,

Brady played bad. The game-plan was suspect. We lacked talent to compensate. Everyone is accountable.

I guess we should be happy we got thumped in a championship game two years in a row....because at least we got there.

I guess.

It's mind boggling the people who ***** on brady. My Pats fandom was passed down from my pops to me(80's). As a Toronto sports fan it was looking like the Pats where a perfect fit for my fandom, losers. Then Brady and Belichick showed up.

It sucks the Pats have not won it all in ten years. But for god sakes, they're always in the hunt. What more can you ask as a sports fan.

As a Toronto sports fan, this is what I have dealt with.

Raptors - I am off the Tanking bandwagon for the Raptors, and hoping for a second round series. A championship is completely out of the question.

Leafs - I literally played at some of the highest levels of Hockey(Played the game from 4 years old), I do not give two F's about hockey. That is how bad the Leafs have been.

Blue Jays - Touch em' all Joe, was the last great memory of them.

Pat's - Ugh, I have to wait a whole year till we have a shot at a championship again.

I know which team I can count on to make a run at a championship. And I will never take that team for granted.

So point out the alternative genius..

we are fans, shouldn't be held to that scrutiny. we observe and comment on the team and its play on the field...

Any QB who wants to make a deep run into the postseason needs a lot of help. Manning has his receivers. They did great today. Russell Wilson has his defense, who also played very well. Kaepernick also has his defense, which kept them in the game.

Really the only think helping Brady lately was the running game, and we all saw how that turned out.

Since the win over Jacksonville in the 07 Division playoffs, Brady's playoff passer ratings: 66.4, 82.5, 49.1, 89.0, 137.6 (Tebow game), 57.5, 91.1, 115.0, 62.3, 78.4, 93.9 today.

Not a picture of consistency for sure.

So as fans we can just make any idiotic comments we like. And then when asked to back up those idiotic comments, we can just fall back on, "we are fans, shouldn't be held to that scrutiny".

smfh.......

Ok, smart guy...what's your expectation??

DID YOU WATCH THE ENTIRE SEASON? DID YOU SEE A DIFFERENCE IN TODAY AND OTHER GAMES WE WON??

yes we are fans, nothing we say matters. Players and coaches emphasize that point repeatedly

he made a descriptive statement about level of Brady's play and you challenged him with a question better suited for GMs and talent evaluators

Your caps lock is on.

And yes I watched the whole season. Which is why I am not making idiotic threads like this.

Look at the team around him.

I don't understand your argument here.

Are you saying it's ok for the Pats to play like garbage in championship games because "at least they got there"? Because if that's your argument then I don't have anything else to say
