Out-gunned, out-manned. This team was remarkably gutsy overcoming HUGE setbacks during the regular season and went as far as it physically could. I'm proud of what the Patriots accomplished this year. Here's looking forward to finishing the job in 2014.

Ditto! Since the Pats last won a championship they have rebuilt the team without having a down year. Next year looks really bright with the young talent if everyone can stay healthy.

Co-sign.

One big positive from all the stuff that hit this team this year is that some promising youngsters got lots of quality experience and and showed a lot of heart and promise.

Go NFC.

Well said.

The nay-sayers need to shut the **** up. This team was beat up all year. looking forward to the excitement of the off season.

I agree, this team had no business being in the AFC Championship, never mind the superbowl.

None of the teams that remain are likable, but I guess I'll pull for the Seahawks, since I really like Russell Wilson as a player.

Time to look to free agency and the draft! At the very least, it's nearly impossible for the upcoming off-season to be as bad as the last one was.

Well we didnt improve alot from last year personnel wise and the outcome is the same. Would have loved to see this team healthy with all our horses. They looked pretty uninspired and couldnt get off the field. Once again losing Talib early hurt us...

i agree, Tune

but now i go to sleep: it is 00,30 monday morning...

pity anyway...

but as always GO PATS

Just getting some people back healthy from IR will make this roster look stacked. Then there's the draft and free agency. I expect a solid playoff run next season.

For the first time since the 2007/2008 season, I really feel like next year is our year. 2009 was the end for a large amount of our roster, and these last four years were rebuilding years where we FAR exceeded expectations, winning the AFC east every year, going to the SB once and the AFCCG three times.

This defense going into next year really looks like it might have the pieces to be elite. A lot of young guys performed really well this year in the place of our injured defensive stars, which means we'll be going into next year with one of the deepest defensive rosters in the league. We'll finally see Mayo, Collins, CJ, Wilfork, Talib, Dennard, McCourty, Ninkovich, and a bunch of other guys finally playing together. I think they'll be as good of a bunch as any.

On offense, we'll have our two all-pro tackles coming back, paired with Mankins who continues to be great. With the stable of running backs we have and a healthy offense line, the running game will be as potent as we've seen it could be at times this year. In the passing game, we'll have Gronk back, still have Edelman, and Amendola will be healthier than he has been since the preseason (he's been playing with a completely torn groin ligament all season-it has noticeably slowed him down). If we can manage to add a legit outside receiver, the offense may get back to playing at historic levels. Plus with Dobson and KT, we'll have great depth at the receiver position, with two young guys who while may not be dominant, do have some size, speed, and most importantly, some trust from Brady.

Finally, our special teams will continue to be dominant with the Ghost, Allen, and Slater.

I think our roster will be more talented and deep than any in the league, and by mid-season will be the favorites to win the Super Bowl. You heard it here first (maybe).

It had every business being in the AFCCG. Despite incredible adversity and attrition this team posted the second best record in the AFC and outplayed numerous playoff caliber teams, including the Colts last week. Are you suggesting that the Colts, Bengals, Chargers or some other AFC team was more worthy than we were of playing the Broncos?

We came up short on the road. But that doesn't make this team any less deserving of everything that it accomplished this season.

This team did better then most predicted can't fault them for the effort this season.

Never stop cheering for this team-oh I get pissed and rant and rave during the games but I'm always there the following week or in this case Training camp in July.

:D

No doubt. Enormous talent gap out there today. If we ever have Talib and Gronk healthy in the playoffs, we will win the SB. Not sure what the odds of that are though...

No shame for the defense perhaps ... they held Denver to a respctable number. Lots of shame for Brady and the offense ... lots of it.

I'll be rooting for the Seahawks as well... The only thing I don't like about Seattle is Richard Sherman, and I think I can forgive him if he turns DT into the Invisible Girl.

after mixing a good rye whisky and stepping outside for some fresh cold air, I have reached the exact same conclusion.
You said it perfectly.

p.s. I also take some solace in the belief that whether it's S.F or Seattle he faces, Fivehead is going to be denied.

There's not shame in losing to Denver. There is some shame in a performance like we saw tonight. Sure, nobody fumbled the ball, but the Pats O left points on the field and the defense missed several opportunities. Arrington is pretty athletic, but he doesn't seem to realize that you need to look at the QB sometimes. More importantly, the Pats lost the battle in the trenches for most of the game.

agreed a team can only go so far with jags at key positions. And this team went incredibly far, it was a great ride. Hopefully next years ride will be all the way.

Ridiculous. They gave up more than 500 yards, 27 first downs, 7 yards per play, and 0 turnovers.

I don't think so, Icy. Denver's defense exposed our offensive line which really isn't healthy. We couldn't run the ball and have no healthy outside threat at WR. This team just was out-manned.
