Wes Welker Pick Hit

I was fine with Wes leaving NE

This past season I didn't mind Wes doing well (except when he played us)

but that pick play was meant to injure Talib

he went straight for the Hip

At this point my feelings have changed, next time we play Wes, I want him blindsighted

i dont want him hurt badly or anything, but he deserves the same as he doled out

Re: Wes welker illegal pick

welker did that literally every friggin play. BB needs to get clips of all those illegal picks and send them to the league office. this has to stop. Make it a point of emphasis in the off-season.

Re: Wes welker illegal pick

How do you feel about that play

no flag or anything~~~~~~~~~

The crazy thing about that play is that the preceding series, the Patriots looked like they were going to take the lead, and the Hooman OPI killed them.

To make matters worse, the Patriots stopped the Broncos on 3rd and short, a drive that would eventually lead to a 10-0 lead, but the ref threw a flag on Logan Ryan for holding. The replay instead showed that Ryan getting picked hard. Denver's drive should have been over.

Honestly, Denver likely would have won anyway. But if the score were 10-3 Patriots or 3-3 tied, and the Patriots got the ball back, with a healthy Talib on D, it would have been a different ball game.

Re: Wes Welker Pick Hit

At this point I wouldn't have a problem if someone came in and just completely destroyed him. It'd be well worth the 15 yard unnecessary roughness penalty.

Re: Wes welker illegal pick

who cares, it's playoffs we should have done the same thing

Maybe we can hire Polian to work the rules committee for us. But, instead of creating new rules we'll push to enforce current ones. It'd be one thing if they didn't call it at all, but every time the patriots run it it gets called. Going to take a page out of Drew Brees' book, we all deserve an explanation.

And it changed the whole game for us. So disheartening to see teams or refs remove us from the game at the expense of illegal plays or bad calls

I wash hoping to see a cheap shot to the knees/ankles of Thomas/Welker/Manning to compensate for that.

The Patriots did try the same thing. They got a flag that killed the drive.

I was a big Welker fan when he was here -- his deplorable catch radius notwithstanding -- and I don't think he did anything wrong in the offseason worse than trust the judgment of a bad agent.

But after that hit, he's dead to me.

I hate to say it, but the refs let him get away with it and they take advantage of it. The Pats do the same thing that infuriates fans of other teams (especially Jets fans).

It should have been a penalty, but it wasn't. In the grande scheme of things, even if the Broncos got a penalty on that play the Pats probably still lose. It wouldn't have stopped Talib from being injured.

:scream: Where the hell was the F'n fire. That was the weakest display I've seen in awhile. They bullied the piss out of the Pats and they played vanilla. BS. the NFL got what they wanted. The Peyton love story. Good luck getting the refs to get them past the NFC tho.

I'm not going to claim any players tried injuring any others. I will say that there's no way the Hooman call should have been made if the Welker play wasn't going to get flagged.

That call/non-call difference, along with the Talib injury that resulted, changed the entire game.

This routinely happens with Peyton's teams. They run pick plays and don't get flagged. This was a blatant pick and no call.

Brady being without Gronk and Hernandez hurt, but I believe the loss of Welker, who was great for Brady during many of season's really destroyed NE's offensive attack this past season. NE needs to draft an explosive slot WR during the draft... Welker was missed.

Ten point swing in the first quarter. What was the final score again?

Absolutely. We DID try it and got a flag for it. PISSED me off.

The thing is, Denver has been doing this all year. They've been getting away with it. Three things:

1. You'd think the refs would be alerted to it.
2. At the very least, don't call it on Hooman.
3. On one of the WR screens in the 2nd half, all the Broncos were blocking way downfield before the WR even caught the ball.
