Its only monday and the bulletin board material is already piling up. Last week it was Brady is the worst of the 8 remaining QBs. Now we have the Bronco's not wanting to sell tix to Pats fans, to ESPN claiming the Bronco's have faced more adversity then the Pats, and now this:

Denver Broncos safety Mike Adams says, compared to Wes Welker, New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman is 'a one-speed guy' | masslive.com

"I can't compare the two because Wes is – he's something special," Adams said. "He can jive up the ball and then speed out and have you off balance. Edelman doesn't do that. He's a one-speed guy. He doesn't have the same ability that Wes has in the slot."

I have no problem if he actually believes Welker is better. The guy is a great player and has alot to show for it, but why take a shot at Edelman. This is starting to sound like the playoffs games against the Steelers from 10 years ago. Not much respect for the Pats. Keep it coming, what doesnt kill you makes you stronger.

I think we all have heard dumber statements than this before but he probably still should not have said that.

He begins by saying he can't compare the two - and then does, in a manner. He should have stopped after saying he couldn't. Still, not sure this is a major knock, but it depends I suppose on how it's taken.

Seems like old times.

Sometimes a four word sentence sums it up better than anything.
You are absolutely right.

Old times are here again.

Wes is very quick at declining.

I'm not sure he's taking a shot at Edelman here. If he is, it's very thinly veiled. Looks like what he's saying is that Welker is the shiftier guy in the open field while Edelman has faster straight line speed. If he is saying that, he would be correct.

Whether or not we think it's a knock, is there anyone here who doubts that when Edelman hears it, he'll think it's a knock?

Yeah, if it was 2010. In 2014, Edelman is faster and shiftier.

When was the last time Welker made a crazy cut to make a guy miss? Because Edelman's been doing it all season.

Do you really think grown men playing a playoff game really care about bulletin board material? The only people it bothers is the fans! But if you think it helps?

We're used to hearing cheap talk about our team. We play in the same division as Rex Ryan's Jets.

Did that early drop by Welker at the goal line yesterday remind you of anything

He looked like he had a slight case of alligator arms on another pass.

huh? You mean the part where he says "edelman doesn't have the same ability in the slot" is not a shot at edelman?

So a guy with one of the best punt return averages of all time isn't shifty and quick. Interesting.

Aside from the games that he's missed due to concussion, Welker has been doing it all season as well. You may want to try watching the games without any sort of preconceived bias because Welker's still the shiftier of the two when in the open field. Because of that, defenses still base their game plans heavily both on he and Demaryius Thomas, given the sort of coverages that are thrown their way. There will come a time when Edelman will be the shiftier of the two in the open field, and that time may come soon. But it's not yet.

I didn't see it as such but also admitted that there was a possibility of it. To me, it's just a guy that has seen both guys playing admitting that one is one of the greatest WR's to line up in the slot of all time while the other one just found his way this season. And Edelman doesn't have the same ability as Welker in the slot, just like Welker can't get open as deep as Edelman can anymore.
