'The Denver Post' Front Page Puts the Pressure on Peyton Manning, Broncos

Strange. That seems more like something the Boston media would do to the Pats.

Especially since its only his second year in Denver. If he was still in Indy, the cover would make more sense.

The Denver press and fans are pretty brutal as well. Been keeping up with them since John Fox went over there and during the Tebow saga. They're not very nice either and have high standards. At times even came across as ungrateful for their wins during a very crappy stretch where you would think the fans would take it anyway they can.

That pressure is pretty real. Those fans and the media are loud.

Number of QB victories in playoffs since Peyton Manning last won a playoff game 1/24/10

Joe Flacco 6
Tom Brady 4
Eli Manning 4
Colin Kaepernick 3
Drew Brees 3
Ben Roethlisberger 2
Russell Wilson 2
Philip Rivers 1
Tim Tebow 1
Andrew Luck 1
Cutler 1
Edit- Aaron Rodgers 2 (thanks M12)

A coach comes to Tom Brady with a game plan calling for running the ball 50 times. Tom yells 'Hell yeah!" and head butts the coach.

Give me the greatest winner, ever, every time

Oh and Peyton's record in the playoffs in game decided by 6 points or less.....
1-7. For reference, Brady is 7-3.

All I need is a one and Dungy and it was a perfect weekend.

Manning may be the type that puts too much pressure on himself. It is a problem for some athletes. And I think it hurts you in big games.

The pressure is on Peyton to deliver a Championship or its a Fail anyway you look at it. All that money was to buy another trophy, not break the TD record.

The same way ARoid was supposed to deliver for the Yankeez. The same way Pujols was to bring a WS trophy for the Angels.

I absolutely believe this. I have no evidence to prove this but I think that there are playoff games that PM just "feels" it and when that happens hes been dominant. The rest of his team is playing well and he is relaxed. The game just comes to him and it becomes so easy for him.

Then there are games where it doesn't come to him and if the game is tight, or the defense is giving him fits and he feels like he has to make a play he sometimes forces the issue.

To his defense, there are times where his team has let him down or the team he has played was a superior team. In that instance, there was nothing he could have done.

I've always felt that Bledsoe was like that. Some games he'd be dominant. Some games he'd try to make something happen for the team and make a huge mental error. I think you see that with Romo.

Pretty sure Rodgers has 5.

I think Brady plays like that too sometimes -- like sometimes when we're done against a tough d, he goes too conservative for fear of screwing up (which then leads to screwing up). Manning's reaction to it though isn't to become conservative, it's to try to force the ball when he shouldn't.

I agree. TB has been guilty of that as well.

The key is being relaxed and confident. Brady's temperment seems as ideal as anybody in football right now. Brady is the epitomy of cool and calm. Manning seems like he cares too much and tries too hard to me. You gotta have confidence first. And then be able to say mentally during competition, "the hell with it, whatever happens, happens." Manning has always seemed stiff and robotic to me. And that likely reflects his mental aspect also.
If Manning can relax, he's hard to stop.
