It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I was under the impression that he tore his acl and is "most likely" out indefinetly, at least till late fall. People on this board keep talking like he will be ready to play this upcoming season and I don't think this is realistic. He is a bust!! Our biggest in a while.. thanks

The sources I've read indicate that there's a decent chance he's back for training camp. And that, at worst, it was a partial tear not a complete tear. I'm not a doctor, nor do I have any inside information; but that's what I've read. That's correct. I would say that it's almost a lock he starts the season on PUP and probably moves to IR from there.

The good thing is that they don't need him. Adding Stallworth and Welker ends that issue. However, I doubt they'll be too quick to hide him in some closet, he needs to be on the field as much as possible, even just in practice, and dumping him on IR won't get that done.I don't think the Pats will waste a roster spot unless he can conclusively demonstrate that he is grasping the system and ready to perform at the NFL level in camp. They'll stash him on the PUP/IR list.

IMO he had arthroscopic surgery which at worst is a 2 month recovery period. In my limited reading, it has been noted that players that rely on speed and cuts, (RB, WR), usually take 2 years to get 100% back. That might have caused the confusion.

He had surgery 4 days after the championship game if it was a serious injury there would have been a couple of weeks period before surgery was done.
Tomase said the surgery was 4 days after the season and say what you want about him, he was pretty good last year about getting good info on injuries.Source please?
Just because somebody posted it on the internet or some beat writer opined it, doesn't make it true.

Just because somebody posted it on the internet or some beat writer opined it, doesn't make it true. I have heard ZERO authoritative information from the New England Patritots. I'm sure that, if they commented, they'd say he is "day to day".
Seriously...all we know is that he had ACL surgery. Anything beyond that is pure speculation on somebody's part.
BTW, as I read the ACL "literature", there really isn't any difference between surgery for a partial tear and a full tear. The ACL itself cannot be repaired. The reconstruction surgery involves harvesting a tendon from elsewhere (usually the patella) and replacing the ACL with bone grafts.
