According to my figures the Patriots' 2007 cap figure is $104,833,830 with 66 players signed or presumed tendered. The salary cap is $109,134,000. The Patriots' adjusted cap is $113,005,580. Therefore, if my calcuations are correct, the Pats are under their adjusted cap by around $8.2 million. Please note that on 6/2/2007 Dillon's 2007 dead money hit will drop from $4,422,500 to $1,922,500 and therefore, the Pats will gain $2.5 million in cap space with that move.

according to miguel...
sitll plenty of room to sign hartwell or other vets.
also if they resign asante the number could go up.

Let sign one more.. ha ha
The better we get before this draft; the better options we have.
I love it plus we all know its ticking off our foes....

Hartwell would almost certainly be a short money deal. He's basically trying to come back and re-establish himself...

They need to try to work something out with Samuel, if possible. They would also be wise to lock-up Warren and Wilfork long term...

Does this include Asante's cap hit or not? Because if so, then this is perfect for the draft and with additional room to maneuver. If not, they might be cutting it close.

My numbers do include the cap hit for Samuel

Does this up again next year? Will teams have more $$ to spend in 2008
thanks

Sign Asante, Hartwell for the right #'s and room for the draft picks, great job by the fo.

No not Hartwell. He is injury prone and very un-reliable. I want to see if Asante can repeat what he did last season before I get him a multi year deal.

Butch Stearns said on WEEI that his Patriot sources tell him that they are not interested in Hartwell.

I agree they should try and lock up Warren and Wilfork now. Not sure they'll be able to come to terms w/ Assante unless they offer him the same deal that Nate Clements got.

They can make him a deal like clements full of fake money if that's what AS really wants.
