Wr is now set, and now if Edge Hartwell signs, do you think its possible we trade up to get Landry from LSU.. Or do we stay put let the draft fall to us, and draft Willis and Nelson... All I know is this has been a great week to be a Pats fan in the offseason:rocker:

It will be heavy D wise, as was always the plan. look for alot of DB and S. BB will move up a little for maybe a choice LB if they fall otherwise look for LB in the 4th and 5th round. Oh and of course a TE ;)

that would be the culmination of my dream i then can wake up

Young ILB and safety. I'm not that worried about our corners honestly.

Is Gay coming back? I know they tendered him pretty high (2nd round?), and if Wilson moves back. Of course it would be nice to get 16 games out of them.

I guess I have to give up on the man-crush that I have for Anthony Gonzalez.

With Stallworth in the fold, if you look at the age/talent of the offense, I think we are set there for the next 2-3 years besides minor personel tweaks on the level of Morris/Brady. I would shift gears to the defense obviously, our DL is alreayd one of the best DLs in the NFL and still young, the LBs have gotten a little older but AD helps that.

The next step for this team is to beef up this defense and try to make it a dominant unit on the level of the Baltimore Ravens this year/2003 Pats/2002 Buccs. I think you use the two first rounders on two of LB/S/CB and probably use the 3rd and 4th rounders on those positions as well...

Write it down... If Adam Carriker DL Nebraska is still there at 24. the Pats will take him. Remember Ty Warren will be a FA next year, and BB loves his DL. LAst year it was rumorred that if the Ravens DL Haloti Ngata was still on the board at 21 BB would have drafted him.

A lot depends on what Samuel thinks about signing long term here. If he is balking, the Pats will be forced to draft his replacement in the first round. If he will sign long term, then the Pats can focus on replacing their TWO oldest starters in 2008 - namely Rodney and Tedy.

Either way, I look for this draft to be heavily weighted toward the Defense on Day 1. The order of S - LB - CB is about all that remains to be decided.

Please dont make my heart skip a beat. We better sign up warren long term and better do it quick. He has arguably risen to become the best D-Lineman on this team.

Watch us draft Greg Olson from Miami:rolleyes:

I'll be surprised if they pick at 24 and 28. I think they'll move up and down. IMO, they need to move into a position to get Reggie Nelson. He's one of the few true difference makers available in this draft...

Draft a Safety and an ILB in the 1st.
Draft a CB in the 3rd.
Draft a RB in the 4th.

Our history of CBs in the 3rd and 4th has worked out really well. Looking forward to it!

To me there is only one guy who is worth moving up for. Patrick Willis.

It's very difficult to find an ILB that can play the Patriots type of defense. Willis is the only player that is close to a sure bet in this years LB class.

We can grab a safety with good potential later.
There are a lot of them in this draft class.

Absolutatmente!!!!!

It looks like the Ole Miss LB Willis might be there at #24, and then grab Griffin or Meriweather at 28.

By signing Thomas, Welker and Stallworth...
Once again, BB/SP go into the draft not HAVING to draft for a specific need and free to take the BPA.

I love Willis , from what I saw of him, but would you package 2 picks for Levon Landry...

If they think he'd be there at #16, trade with GB
GB gets #24,28 (1400 points)
NE gets #16,47 (1430 points)

Have you not watched this team draft over the last 5 or 6 years? They will draft the player that they deem to be the best value, no matter what side of the ball or what position. If the draft unfolds before them with a strong emphasis on defensive players, I think they will find value and draft offensive players early. They have their own ratings and will draft the best FOOTBALL player available when it is their pick.

I could see the Pats taking Eric Weddle in the 3rd round if he's there. He's a S who has played CB and was a very good CB too for Utah. I think he was the guy who did a number on Calvin Johnson in a bowl game 2 years ago. He is undersized at 5-11 but he is very versatile.
