It has been 24 years since Belichick was hired in by the Cleveland Browns a team he coached from 1991 – 1995; since being fired Belichick has gone on to win 3 Super Bowls and be recognized as one of if not the greatest coach of all time.
In the 20 years since Belichick had his only winning season during his tenure there, Cleveland has endured:
•3 years without an NFL franchise
•15 losing seasons
•1 playoff appearance
•0 playoff victories
These coaches and front office personnel all have connection to Belichick and have been notable members of the Browns organization during that period.
•Todd Bowles
•Ernie Adams
•Frank Edgerly
•Romeo Crennel
•Jeff Davidson
•Eric Mangini
•Brian Daboll
•Michael Lombardi
That brings us to now; Josh McDaniels is rumored to be a top candidate for the head coaching job and Ryan Mallett is rumored to be a potential trade target (has been for 2 season now). January 1, 2015 was 20 years since the Browns won their last playoff game while being coached by Bill Belichick over us the New England Patriots. I see the irony and the weirdness in the fact that after 20 years of suffering the Cleveland Browns could fans could finally see their team win a playoff game with Josh McDaniels as their head coach and Ryan Mallett as their quarterback.
I wouldn’t mess with Belichick… this is too weird for me...
