And the leader of a football dynasty ... oops!

No. He wasn't good for nearly long enough. And while he was good he had an outstanding offense around him; not that the second point disqualifies him but it's a factor. Regardless, he only had 3 excellent seasons and he's been in the league 8 years.

Definite no.

what about gale sayers or terell davis?

his numbers are better than namath's and griese's are.
and he was much more dominat.

That's the problem with numbers. Did you watch Namath and Warner?

That's why Don Sutton is in the Hall Of Fame and Tiant and other more dominant pitchers aren't.

I think Bledsoe is close, but not in. A couple years in a pass happy offense doesn't make you a hall of Famer, which is why....................

Warner is not close to being close to HOF.

art monk is a guy who was around for a long time and put up great career numbers, but he never was one of the nfl's best recievers, alot of people think he should be in. I say he shouldn't. like a baseball player who hangs around for 22 years to get 3000 hits doesn't impress me much either.

I look for a guy who dominates the game and does things that no one else ever has before. If it was one season, i understand, but Warner is in the history books with career accomplishements.

If Brady quit today, his career number aren't all that impressive compared to modern day qb's, but I say he's Defenitley in.

They were different. Both had stellar careers cut short by injury in which they were the best at their positions. Warner's career was not cut short by injury. He was eventually replaced by an average QB in Bulger whose numbers were impressive again because of the system and went to the Giants and was replaced by a rookie in Eli Manning, then went to the Cardinals and was replaced by a rookie in Matt Leinart. Warner was just a fraud who was exposed first by Bulger, then the Giants and Cardinals. He's definitely not a hall of famer, not even close.

Warner was affected by injuries as well

Very interesting thread!!!

I would say no because he only had 3 great seasons. How long were Sayers and Davis? im asking because im not sure. Brady has been terrific for 6 years and has 3 rings, and hes not through. Is Denny McClain a MLB hall of famer? Very interesting thread.

His dominance was too short not a Hall of Famer in my opinion. He has only played two complete seasons. How can that possibly be considered HOF? No way!

But not in New York or Arizona, where he was exposed as a fraud. Sayers and Davis's injuries were far more serious and ultimately led to the end of their careers.

Trent Green would have done just as well with the Rams that year if our friend Rodney had not knocked him out. Warner was the ultimate system QB. He did not do anything like Montana, who went to the Chiefs his last year and nearly brought them to the Super Bowl, to prove that he was not a system QB.

Right, Warner's had his injuries but he's had many opportunities to show his abilities and failed.

If we are going to consider Kurt Warner for MVP, then we need to consider Mark Rypien as well. From a historical point of view, those two players have had the most similar careers.

As I Looked through the all time nfl passing records i didn't see Rypien once, But i did see Warner multiple times.

No Comparison

If A NFL Coach wins one superbowl, like Dungy or Cower, Everyone is ready to send the to the HOF.

Both coaches had sustained excellence over the better part of a decade. I think Cowher is a HOF-quality coach (with the ring being the nail in the coffin). I don't think Dungy is, but he could be if he wins a couple more Super Bowls.

I think he may have a chance. He took his team to 2 superbowls in 3 years and won one of them. However, had the Rams pulled out a victory against the Patriots, Warner's chances of going to Canton would be very good. Also, Warner is high character guy and had amazing stats when his was a starter with the Rams. In fact, if it weren't for an injury during his second season as the Rams starter, he was on pace to break touchdowns thrown in a single season. Lastly, his age and injuries could be reasons why his play declined so fast.

While Kurt Warner was at the top of his game for three years, he does not have the body of work over time to qualify for the HOF. A shooting star, he was fun to watch when he had those incredible receivers with the Rams. Unfortunately, it all came to a crashing end when his team encountered a defense that knocked them silly in Superbowl XXXVI.

For some reason, he was never the same after that game.
