Where did you hear this? I haven't seen any reports of a Miami offer. I read KFFL, profootballtalk, Reiss, Tomase, Schefter, and I have been to Miami message baords, and still I can't find anything that says thy offered him a contract, yet.

So you guys really believe Rosenhaus when he says all the teams offered Stallworth a contract? If you represent a typical NFL team GM, and I have no reason to think you guys are not as smart as half of them, then I retract my statement calling Rosenhaus a buffon.

I confess to being amazed. I figured that no one would believe him and that his efforts were self-defeating.

Or perhaps there are two born every minute.

You can't go by what you hear on SportsDesk. After everyone else was already saying the rumors of Stallworth signing here were false, SportsDesk was still saying he had signed. Also, I still haven't seen this Miami contract offer rumored, or reported anywhere. they probably just thought Miami was going to make an offer, because Stallworth stayed in Miami for two nights. The problem with that logic is Stallworth and Drew the D-Bag both have houses in the area, and probably just used it as a base of operation for a few days. I really think Stallworth would fit into NE's offense well, so it kind of sucks that D-Bag is Stallworth's agent.

No where did we say we believed him, just simply stated it works in his advantage. You call him a bafoon for him saying theres 4 offers out there. Him saying there are 4 offers out there is an advantage.

A lot of times, other times teams will just move on and drop out of the bidding.

Given Stallworth's recent history and his objective to maximize his salary, this is about the only way he's going to do it without signing for a year to prove his value. Rosenhaus, despite the transparency of his ethics over the years, is doing the only thing possible to reach this objective. They're going to multiple teams to see if they can get what they'd like in a contract. They now have a range of commitments from all prior visits they can use for comparison purposes. And with each new visit, they can be sure to get something more than the last. Something they didn't have before.

Failing that, plan B just might be that one-year proving period.

Exactly,which is why agents walk a fine line when it comes to building up their client. While it's their job to market their clients and get the best deal possible,overzealousness can lead to it backfiring. Case in point would be the Pats who would likely walk away from a bidding war and/or drawn-out drama.

Maybe Miami has no intention of signing him. Maybe they just want to jack the price up so the Pats pay more for him, I wouldn't be shocked if that were the idea.
