Week 16 NFL Games - Previews and Predictions
By:

The week 16 NFL schedule is quite compelling, with six games featuring a pair of teams that are both battling for playoff positions. The best early game is a rematch between between the Saints and Panthers, taking place this time in Charlotte. New Orleans...

Early Games:

New Orleans Saints (10-4) at Carolina Panthers (10-4)
Panthers favored by 3½

Indianapolis Colts (9-5) at Kansas City Chiefs (11-3)
Chiefs favored by 7½
Rooting interest: Colts to lose

Miami Dolphins (8-6) at Buffalo Bills (5-9)
Buffalo favored by 1
Rooting interest: Dolphins to lose
- Not sure why this game went from Miami being favored by three to Buffalo being favored by one considering EJ Manuel and Steve Johnson are out. Yeah it's raining, but Miami gets lots of rain too; I guess because of the temperature (36°).

Dallas Cowboys (7-7) at Washington Redskins (3-11)
Cowboys favored by 3

Minnesota Vikings (4-9-1) at Cincinnati Bengals (9-5)
Bengals favored by 7½
Rooting interest: Bengals to lose
- Pats fans once again will be cheering for Matt Cassel

Denver Broncos (11-3) at Houston Texans (2-12)
Broncos favored by 10
Rooting interest: Broncos to lose
- Schaub back at QB, 3rd string RB to start for Houston

Tampa Bay Bucs (4-10) at St. Louis Rams (6-8)
Rams favored by 3½

Tennessee Titans (5-9) at Jacksonville Jaguars (4-10)
Titans favored by 4

Cleveland Browns (4-10) at New York Jets (6-8)
Jets favored by 2½
Rooting interest: ???
- The obvious answer is to always root for the Jets to lose, but a win hurts their draft position; it also increases the possibility that the current dysfunctional status quo remains in place, rather than a thorough house cleaning to attempt to rid themselves of their ineptitude.

need the vikings bad

well that was quick

Law Firm with an early TD for Cinci.

Since I have NFL Sunday ticket I can pick the game to watch and I am watching the Bills Fin game. Hoping for a Buffalo win.

As I type this Cincy has a 7-0 lead...damn

Buffalo has come to play. 2 sacks already on Tannehill. Last one took Fins out of FG range.

Could have had Cordarelle Patterson in this year's draft. Will be interesting to see how he compares to Dobson in the years to come.

how did we get blown away by cincy...they are very average

C'mom Cassel, win this one for Tom!

7-7 now......

That'll be part of the assessment; but the Pats did get four picks for one in that trade:
52 - Collins
83 - Ryan
102 - Boyce
229 - Part of Demps for Blount trade

I am confident that had the Patriots drafted Patterson (and he had identical production in Foxboro), then many on this forum would have been saying 'coulda' had (fill in the blank)' over the last several weeks.

Patterson has had only one game with 55+ yards receiving this year; by week 10 (at which point he was averaging 2.1 receptions and 19.6 yards per game) there would probably have been a 100+ response thread declaring him to be a bust, with plenty of comments about how Bill Belichick is a terrible evaluator of talent and worse at drafting than Matt Millen.

Yes! Texans stop Broncos on fourth and short around the 25.

Edit: Also Von Miller return questionable.

Von Miller injured.
Coach Manning chooses to go for 4th and 4 in easy FG range, and fails.

Wow, for the first time this season Thomas gets tackled instead of breaking six tackles for a 70 yard touchdown. Houston playing well on d early.

Hah -- yes. Exactly the way I saw it. Made funnier by the announcers saying "Coach John Fox choosing to go for it." Yeah, right.

Viniateri wide left.
