I'm hoping that whether he's fired or resigns, he leaves the Boston area never to be heard from again. The trouble is, he recently had a kid and his roots here might be quite deep, especially since he has been writing for the Globe for 24 years.

There's nothing wrong with wishing, hoping or dreaming as long as you don't become obsessed.

Does that apply to everything in life, or just matters involving Borges?

How old is Borges? Isn't he close to 60? He just had another kid? I know he has a kid (I think a daughter) that is college age or maybe slightly older.

I think he will be back. When Mike Barnacle got caught and suspended, there were subsequent articles that he wrote that were later found to be plagiarized. That is what got him canned. So far, Borges is guilty of the one article.

He's destined for Cincy or San Diego.....It takes one to know one (or write about one);)

I must be mistaken, then, about him having more than one child. Maybe he's remarried, because he had a kid recently. If he has a daughter and she looks anything like him, my heart goes out to the poor thing.

who will become the event corodinator for the next 3 superbowl parades for the patriots

Plays "Find the Soap" in prison

He won't be taking a job with other media because if he was going to do that, there would be no reason to sit out for 2 months. I mean, the Boston Globe suspended him but if he took a job with ESPNRadio, they wouldn't have to wait two months.

However, as an employee of the Boston Globe, he is forbidden by them from going on other media while under suspension... which actually makes sense otherwise the suspension wouldn't be a real punishment.

who will help us find the next Richard Seymour or Matt Light...who will pick the next Belichick...

Justice dictates that he carry Mike Reiss's gear, fetches water, and runs errands for him over the next two seasons to truly understand how someone can report factually on a team without injecting personal vendettas. After that, the globe can reassign him to their Oakland bureau to cover the Raiders through retirement.

I wish it were #4, but I voted for #1.

I think he'll be so angry he was suspended that he's going to go out and start a knockdown, dragout fight with someone, most likely Prof. Steven Hawkings.

The key words being "so far"...

My fervent hope is that the creeping senility displayed recently will increase exponentially due to lack of human contact.

Drooling in his oatmeal and with his "Depends" loaded and leaking he will be a forgotten and irrelavent blip on the Boston radar.:D

I hope he returns and covers the Pats again. His presumed bias against BB is a given. I read his articles knowing that and take anything he writes about BB with a large grain of salt. I find it refreshing to read his sometime contrarian views, at least he's not in the pocket of any team like Shank Shaughnessy. Now he's boring.

Who cares?

I'll buy him a one-way train ticket out of South Station.
