No need to go for his knee. I hate seeing someone to tackle with intent to injure. I bet flacco has a sprained ligament from that hit.

That's bad karma right there, I never wish bad injuries on any player, friend or foe.

Yep, not right to wish injury on a player and karma sucks and I don't want to see any more injuries.

BSPN is reporting that Flaccid is banged up after taking a helmet to the knee Monday night and will have to wear a knee brace this weekend! First play of the game Jones needs to put a helmet on Flaccid's other knee!

Joe Flacco of Baltimore Ravens at practice with knee brace - ESPN

Hit "Flaccid" hard and often, but no, don't go after his knees. I really don't like players going after injuries, period (Can't imagine a WR/HB playing with a broken rib and having DBs target it. Makes me hurt just typing this)

You can have a physical game without intent to "knock players out".

He may like the pain and become unflaccid.

He didn't even need an MRI or any further tests, so it's really not that big of a deal in the least.

They said that he's wearing the knee brace in limited practice for the rest of the week because he got freaked out due to the lower hit that he took from DeAndre Levy on Monday night.

It's not like he's regularly running for 10-15 yds at a time anyway. He's going to stand back there like most QBs and fling the ball. Hopefully our defense comes to play on Sunday, and continues some improvements that we saw in certain areas vs Miami.

Joe Flacco did wind up undergoing an MRI on his knee, which revealed a "mild" MCL sprain.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Flacco will wear a brace on the knee when he starts against New England, as expected. Flacco practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, confirming he's on track to play. Flacco has been a fantasy QB2 throughout the season. That will not change in fantasy championship week.

Supa, he had an MRI.

probably means he is going to chuck more deep bombs for PIs

Although I am just guessing, I would bet that Flacco probably wouldn't be playing this weekend if the Ravens weren't in must win mode. A sprained MCL isn't a huge injury, but it is going to be tough for him to play and step into his throws.

One thing I did notice is he didn't step into his throws after he was injured, but it was a small sample size (I think two incomplete passes).

If he can't step into his throws on Sunday or has problems doing so, it will really hinder the best part of his game right now - deeper passes.

Sorry. I wish Suggs' tongue and lips would explode, John Harbaugh's brain evaporates and Flacco's right arm goes completely numb.

Especially since I it puts him at an increased risk of further damage.

Supa, he had an MRI.

The OP quoted ESPN, who reported the fact that he did NOT have an MRI. Then again, they also reported that he did NOT practice too, and he definitely did on a limited basis according to Harbaugh.

I was simply going by the original ESPN report which the OP referred to.

This is an update from PFT:

"According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Flacco has a “mild” sprain of his medial collateral ligament, which was discovered during an MRI examination. (Previously, ESPN had reported Flacco would not undergo an MRI.)

According to the club’s injury report, Flacco did not practice on Wednesday, though coach John Harbaugh indicated that Flacco “went through practice today on a limited basis.” Also, Harbaugh said the team “(does) anticipate that he’ll play.”

I suppose it would depend on what grade of MCL sprain he had, and that you may be right if it were anything other than a grade 1, but it definitely doesn't sound too serious judging from the reports, especially if he took part in a limited practice on Wednesday--less than 48 hrs after the MNF game vs DET.

One would think that if it were that bad that he couldn't play on Sunday, he probably wouldn't have been a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, but I'm just speculating like you are. I would think that if it were an injury that could potentially hold him out of the game on Sunday, he'd probably not be practicing on any level, not only Wed, but also Thurs, and even Fri too. We've seen plenty of QBs miss practice for a couple/few days during the week, yet Flacco didn't. I suppose it's certainly worth keeping an eye on tomorrow.

Maybe Chandler could throw gasoline on the opposing players and then Belichick could light a match and look into the camera and say 'I guess it's not goose that's cooked...it's Raven' and then throw the match on the trail of gasoline leading across the field after lighting a cigarette and it would engulf the opposing team in flames and they'd cut to Jim Harbaugh crying as his brother is like, roasting and screaming as his body is charred black.

I dunno I'm not much of an X's and O's guy but I think this is the way to go, a helmet to the knee isn't fullproof. I like fundamentals in my football.

We see plenty of players around the league who practice on a limited basis all week who are not healthy to play on Sunday. Hell, there are players who practice on limited basis for weeks without being healthy to play. Gronk was practicing every practice on a limited basis for over a month before he was healthy enough to actually play.

None of us know for sure either way, but the Ravens are basically already in the playoffs. They are pretty much in must win mode because one loss could bounce them from the playoffs. They can't afford to rest Flacco.

Besides, practicing on a limited basis is very vague. Some players who practice on a limited basis do next to nothing in practice while others do almost a complete practice. Flacco being limited at practice really tells us nothing to how healthy he is and whether he would play on Sunday if this was a game in September.

One thing that should concern the Ravens and their fans was that Flacco was unable to step into throws after he was injured. For a QB who is known for the deep ball rather than short passing, it will make if impossible to be accurate if he can't step into throws and throws off his back foot.

And there are people that still defend the Lions defense saying they are tough. They are dirty that's it. Bountygate 2.

About Flacco, I want him on the field to be picked twice sunday.

I also don't wish any player to get injured, apart from Pollard, I would smile if he got beheaded in a primetime game.

How about a double-fatal head-on collision between Pollard and Michael Vick? :singing:

Flacco the Whacko is quoted quite a bit in this story.

I hope they keep making Flacco available to the media so he can answer a zillion questions about the knee and obsess over it and get happy feet when Nink turns the corner and starts to zero in on him as his crappy receivers struggle to get open against the Pats secondary.

In his mind Flacoo will be going through his progressions, "Don't get hit. Don't get hit. Oh, my God. Don't get hit. Here, you take it!"
