Anyone watching this. Pretty cool as always. NFL Films has some really rare footage of him as a player. Guy had some bad luck in the playoffs.

Bad luck is an understatement.

Those 2 CLE teams in the '86 and '87 seasons with the drive/the fumble were mere seconds away from the Super Bowl. I always kind of felt bad for him after those back to back losses, and the city of CLE in general.

Then who was it that didn't go down when they picked off Brady for the 3rd time in the divisional round of the '06 season? Was it McCrae? Marlon McCrae maybe? That one was huge...it actually got Marty fired after a 14-2 season, poor bastard.

He's from the **** Vermeil school of crying coaches. Never knew that about Marty. Not that it's a bad thing.

That was great. Learned a few things about him.

Is there more than one Darryl Smith? I thought he played for JAX before BAL picking him up this season. Are we talking about the LB?

Didn't watch it. What did he say was his "biggest mistake" in football?

Leaving the Kansas City job.

I was at the game.

Troy Brown knocked the ball out and NE recovered. Then, SDs kicker missed the FG to win the game. Lights out.

I never saw a parking lot empty so fast in my life after the game.

The following week NE would lose to Indy for the AFCC. I was at that game too. NE would have played Chicago in the SB and killed them for Bradys 4th ring.

Leaving the Kansas City job.

He had an affair with a hair dresser (woman).

I always heard that Martys wife made him quit.

The only QB that Marty ever had that was any good was Rich Gannon and he was a back up.

Elvis Grbac was hurt and Gannon was winning games right up to the 97 AFCC vs Denver and Marty yanks Gannon and puts in Grbac. KC loses and Elway goes on to win his first SB.

KC has an infinity for 49er QBs:Montana, Deberg, Bono, Grbac and Smith.

He meant Darrell Green cb for Redskins.

That was a great show. He really got screwed by AJ Smith.

yes .my bad Darrell Green. Even bruce smith complained and everyone knew he only cared about his records.

That was definitely one of the better ones in the series.

Now let's all do the Shottenheimer Polka! :singing:

Also noteworthy - Charger CB Quentin Jammer was beaten badly by Reche Caldwell (of all to people) to set up the winning FG for the Patriots. This somehow escaped the attention of Philip Rivers who minutes later berated Ellis Hobbs for being "the worst cornerback in the league."

Rivers called Hobbs "The Sorriest conerback in the League." Not sure if that's any better lol.

He also let welker walk....
