Rams agreed to terms with TE Randy McMichael on a three-year contract worth roughly $9 million.

A shocker after they took two first-day tight ends in 2006. But coach Scott Linehan knows McMike from Miami in 2005, when he caught 60 passes and McMichael is still young at 27. McMichael should start and be his usual steady self in fantasy leagues, so this crushes Joe Klopfenstein's keeper value and makes Dominique Byrd's release possible.

Good Move by the Rams

You have to think that there is some kind of character flaw or something there that causes him to get cut and not get the interest that you'd expect on the market. He's too gifted to get such a "small" contract in this ridiculous free agent market.

i think it was because he was so inconsistant, and i thinks some other off the field issues that got him cut...

dolphins were looking to trade him but cut him after there were no suitors

He has some character issues, but on the field, it's a good addition by the Rams. They have been weak at the TE position for many years, ever since Conwell left.

Glad we don`t have to play him anymore.
Now if only Jason Taylor leaves that would be great

Thats good im happy for Mcmichael. He didnt get used properly im miami and followed him closely all last season. He was my starting TE on my fantasy team.

Glad we dont have to play him in the AFC anymore....

Great move. Not. I like McMichael, but we desperately need to get a DT in free agency. I get the feeling the top 2 DT's Alan Branch and Amobi Okoye will be long gone before we select. If we trade up, to get either, I look at the price as being too much, as DT's are not known to come in right away and be a factor. The value of DT's are not there, unless we can trade from 13 into the to anywhere from 25 to 32, and I don't see a team trading wanting to give up too many picks and all to move up that high. If we don't sign that free agent DT, I hopefully believe we can trade for a good veteran DT.

My Rams have a legit chance of getting into the playoffs. In fact, with the Bears taking their team apart as it seems, giving Thomas Jones away to the Jets, I look at it as the Rams with a few breaks could be playing in the big dance, and that is if Scott Linehan, John Shaw and Jay Zygmont get off their you know wahts, and sign a ####### DT or two.

Yeah, the problem is there are no good DTs out there to sign. I think they will do all they can to get a DT in this draft after passing on Bunkley last year.

The Rams should easily be a playoff team in the weak NFC. I don't know how you can have Bulger, Jackson, Holt, and Bruce in the conference and not do squat. I'm sure losing the Big O had something to do with it.

Drew Bennett will have a bigger role on that offense than Isaac Bruce will this year. Also, the addition of McMichael should help them as well.
