Here's what you need to remember:
I don't rank guys that we won't have the option to draft. Peterson, Johnson, Adams, Landry, and Branch will not be on this list.

I also don't rank guys that will not last to where I feel their value is. For example, I think Nelson is a 2nd round talent. I think Ginn is a 3rd round talent. I think Merriweather is a 4th round talent. All three will likely be taken long before that spot, so they will not be on the list.

I also don't justify why someone didn't make the list. Sometimes I don't remember why someone was whittled off the 700+ master list, and I don't want to be in the habit of answering so many questions.

QBs
1. Drew Stanton Michigan State 6-3 226 4.72 1.56/2.71 - Prototypical QB size. Nice arm. Makes all the throws and reads defenses well.

2. John Beck 6'2" 215 4.75 1.62/2.7 - Older, more mature player. 4-year starter, owns several BYU records. Impressed in Combine...Who does this scouting report remind you of: Needs to add more bulk and strength to his frame to absorb punishment in the pocket and, even though he is able to move around the pocket, he is no threat running with the ball … Has good arm strength for the short-to-intermediate area, … Lacks valid speed, but makes up for it with good short-area avoid skills and a quick release to unleash the ball on time?

3. Jeff Rowe Nevada 6-5 225 4.85 - Rowe has a big-time arm and good accuracy, but that’s not really what makes him special. He reads coverages well and understands blitz packages like a defensive coordinator. Although he doesn’t exactly have a halfback’s running ability, he can buy time with his feet and, better yet, stand up in the face of the rush....

4. Trent Edwards Stanford 6-4 222 4.85 1.66/2.76 - I think he's overrated, but he's a pretty accurate arm, and is used to adversity.

5. Jared Zabransky Boise State 6-2 219 4.56 1.53/2.65 - Also worked out as safety. BB can find room for him as a reserve/Special Teamer.

6. Matt Gutierrez - Torn labrum sent one of nation's hottest recruits from Michigan to Idaho St. He needs to work on his delivery to iron out some bad mechanics he picked up while protecting his shoulder.

7. Jordan Palmer Texas-El Paso 6-6 229 4.93 Good numbers. Pedigree worth drafting. If Eli goes #1 overall, Jordan is certainly worth a #6/7.


RBs
1. Brian Leonard Rutgers 6-1 224 4.53 1.54/2.6 - Mr. Can-do. I could see him used as Patrick Pass, or as Keith Byars.

2. Darius Walker Notre Dame 5-10 212 4.56 1.54/2.62 - Productive in
pro-style offense. I think he's the best RB in the draft in the passing game.

3. DeShawn Wynn Florida 5-11 232 4.48 1.47/2.56 He was a consensus All-American selection, including being named to the prestigious Parade All-American Team. National Bluechips ranked him first in the nation in its speed running back category. He was also chosen to Prep Star's Dream Team, and that publication ranked him among the nation's top 12 rushers. Unreal quickness for his size. There are some character questions, but I don't think they're terribly bad. Been called a bad teammate. We'll see.

4. Garrett Wolfe Northern Illinois 5-08 182 4.42 - I really hope we draft this guy to be our next Kevin Faulk. He'll need work in the blitz pickup, no doubt, but an electric runner.

5. Kolby Smith Louisville 5-11 214 4.51 1.53/2.59 - Workmanlike, productive back with low miles on the odometer.

6. Reggie Merriweather Clemson 5-08 210 4.52 MJ-D clone, benched by presence of GREAT back (James Davis)

7. Eldra Buckley Chattanooga 5-09 205 4.44 1.53/2.65 Had his best games against the D1 teams Chattanooga played. Very good numbers in losing causes.

8. Justin Vincent LSU 5-11 235 4.58 Light load the last two years, as Addai and Broussard took the lion's share of carries. Could be a bargain.

9. Robin Gamble Miles (DII) ...Robin had three sacks in the two games we scouted and has very impressive raw numbers to back up his resume. He measured in at his pro day at 6'5.5," and 270 pounds. He ran 4.74, 4.78 and 4.83 in his three heats at forty yards (timed by an NFL scout for the K.C. Chiefs), did a 37.5" vertical, a 9'5" broad jump, and a very respectable 7.22 cone drill, and 4.63 short shuttle. He also did 24 reps and has 36" arms and 10.5" hands. He needs to be coached up, but already possesses a nice club move. He played LB some in college too, and could be looked at as an OLB.

He was impressive in the games I saw him in this year and his speed and change of direction at the combine were unexpected. I wonder if BB would bring him in as a wr/te and emergency QB and let him play a role similar to the Steelers college QBs turned receivers. That would add a dimension we don't have.

I'm of the opinion that at the elite NCAA level, every center can play guard, and most guards can play center.

Regarding Nelson, you can read my first paragraphs of the initial post.

Regarding Wright, Jackson, and Blalock, I start this process with about 700 players. I go through a long weeding-out process. In many cases, I don't remember why they've been weeded out. Could be a bad fit, could be overvalued, could be a character risk I can't overlook. So I don't bother giving explanations why so and so isn't on the list, because in some instances I don't remember, and it's not something I want to answer several times when someone's prime rib is my scraps for Rover. I meant to put this in the rules. I will now.

Those are the 10 and 20 yard splits, which I put much more importance on than the 40 times. I want to know whow quick somebody is out of his stance, and how long it takes him to get to top gear. These numbers are provided as a courtesy from BoR and Cstjohn, and ultimately from nfldraftscout.

I believe Carriker will not be there. However, I can envision a scenario where he slips down to #20 or so. Carriker, Revis, Meachem, and Spencer stand a good chance of being gone by 24, but I don't think it's a forgone conclusion, as with Landry, Branch, or some others.

Weddle can play anywhere. I just stuck him, and other players with versatility (Harrell, Sears) into one category instead of two or three.
