Noticed last night after the roster update (voted by the fans/along with some EA person) that Gronkowski went up from 98 to 99. He's one of only 5 players in the game with a perfect rating:

Calvin Johnson
Adrian Peterson
J.J Watt
Peyton Manning
Rob Gronkowski

Just goes to show how other people view the GRONK. Excluding QBs, do you think Gronk is a top 5 player in the league? Would he be the #1 pick in a 2010 redraft?

When healthy, Gronk is unstoppable. I think a case could be made for him to be top-5 but he's definitely top-10.

Nice to see edelman up to an 83 as well.

Based on the affect gronk has on the offense I would say he's a top 10 maybe 5 player...look at the stats on ESPN. We are the #2 scoring offense in the NFL with gronkin the 20s without

Its too bad we haven't had a healthy gronk these past 2 playoff runs because the outcome could've been very different. Hopefully that changes this year

Well, consider this: Since returning, New England, not Denver, has become the best offense in the league if you start compiling the stats from his first full game (Pittsburgh) on.

If he's healthy in 2011 and 2012, we're looking for our 2nd Dynasty this year IMO.

I say top 5 all day.

Rob is the best positional player in the NFL. What I mean by that is, the gap between him and #2 is widest of any position in the league. At most positions there's a debate on whether who's the best or second or third best.

The tight end position's best is unquestionably Gronkowski, and it's not even close. Sans QB, Rob and Megatron are the two best offensive players in the NFL. Of course he's top-5.

a 4 game sample where we dropped 55 in one of the games is kinda misleading, though. The Pats' offense has been really good for the past month-plus. It hasn't been the best in the league.

Gronk's return has also coincided at points with the health of Amendola and Vereen, and the development (although disrupted by injuries) of Thompkins and Dobson. Gronk has been a huge factor, but the change isn't just him.

Good point, although I do feel the need to nitpick a bit and point out that Amendola doesn't look healthy at all. He's as healthy as he's going to get this season, but the groin is clearly affecting him. Hoping he can stay healthy next season (not optimistic, but hopeful).

Why?

Over the 4 games they are averaging 35.7 points and 473 yards per game. Which is the best in the league over that stretch.

Oh he's not 100%, but he's a veteran who Brady can depend on to be where he's supposed to be and make the correct reads (which is exactly why Dobson and Thompkins' improvements have helped the offense as well).

Since that game it's been the best in the league.

It's not that he's a top 5 player in the league; it's that he's exceptionally ahead of the rest at his position.

Outside of QB's I think Gronk is a top 3 player.

What is Shane Vereen's overall in Madden?

Since 2010 the Texans have been my favorite Team in Madden.:bricks: I have always found the Patriot Offense a little on the slow slide. I can dink and dunk you to death in Madden but that gets alittle nerve racking in very close games you know how the ball bounces. The Texans Offense is little more explosive Foster and Johnson is a threat at anytime Foster more so than Johnson in Madden 25. I played a guy who was Locked in on Gronk well I had Three guys on him it was matter on time before he threw that Pick 6.:D

it took them this long? have they not been watching since day one?

I lol'd hard at Manning being 99.

I wonder if his rating goes down in Madden when you play a meaningful game, or a game in the cold

That would be the most realistic Madden yet

OT: Gronkowski now 99 overall in Madden

Sure doesn't feel like that in game. I almost never throw to him if someone's within a foot of him.
