tebow receives offer from Italian Football league

What a shame, this guy had a legit playoff win over a good Pittsburgh defense, he lead his team to playoffs, in his ways, not a beautiful football, but effective.

I still think he deserves a roster spot in NFL, is he a pocket passer? Of course not.

But he's not that worse than some qbs playing on this league.

Yes, he is, otherwise he'd have a job somewhere. Teams are scraping the bottom of the barrel for QBs. If he was even marginally good he would be on a team right now.

My guess is Tim Tebow - an Evangelical Protestant - does not consider proximity to the Pope an important consideration.

I think people confuse the correlation of Tebow in 2011 with the causation. Essentially he led a Broncos team that is 23-5 since he left with a 35+ year old Peyton Manning to an 8-8 record and a playoff victory over the a Steelers team that is 13-15 since and set miss the playoffs for a second straight season.

The fact is he was unable maintain a roster spot on a team with the worst QBs in the NFL the Jets and then Belichick saw more value in players such as Mulligan being on this roster. I think if players like Boyce, Bequette and Beauharnias clearly indicate that Belichick will use a spot on the 53 man roster if he is able to see some long term upside, he apparently did not see any in Tim.

The ironic thing about 2011 is that it is probably the thing that prevents Tebow from assuming his ideal NFL position as practice squad QB.

Let this be a lesson to all those complaining including myself in Hightower thread the 25th overall pick could always be worse :)

The sound of his last name ends in a vowel, so they may be confused.

Timoteo Tebo!

Tim is no where near as bad as you're trying to make him out to be. Just because he isn't in the NFL at the moment doesn't prove that he's awful like you are trying to say. Tim has his flaws as a QB, no doubt. However, Tim is very talented.

I'm sure he is but just not as a professional NFL quarterback. That has been proven on more than one occasion and on more than one team. He's had as many or more opportunities to prove his value than a lot of drafted QB's and has come up woefully short. At this time he cannot even get a job as a back up which, when you look at who are the backups in this league, is pretty telling. It seems pretty clear that your undying support is coming from your religious background and he is your brother in arms but just saying he is more than what he has shown is foolish.

Memo to Italian coaches...

1. Set the edge.

2. Make him come off his first read.

...you've defeated Tim Tebow. :D

Congrats. You've achieved what almost all SEC coaches failed to accomplish and half the coaches he faced in the one year starting in the NFL failed to accomplish. You should submit your CV to a college team at the very least.

Italy has a professional football league?! Why hasn't Italian Pat Patriot filled us in on this?

Italians like to party -- protracted soirees of wine, food and mirth. Tim might have difficulty fitting in.

I love when I read the defenders of Tebow saying, "...he has his flaws."

When you are a QB, and your "flaw" is throwing the football...it ceases to be simply a flaw. Remember what your English teacher called Macbeth's ambition? It is a FATAL FLAW.

Even so, I really like Tebow. And I like watching him play. There is something fascinating about watching him use his athleticism to overcome his lack of natural QB ability. I truly wish Jax had him playing this year. If they did, I would watch every Jax game. There is something entertaining about him--as long as it is not my team. THAT would be frustrating.

we really need to read Marcus's opinion. I know you're out there Marcus...it's the middle of your shift, you got plenty of time...tell us what you and the love of your life, SportsBlob Brandi think about the Capobow di tutti capo playing for them thar Cecilian papists over yonder in Eyetalia...c'mon Remarker, step up to the plate, Man of LaManyhandles...is THIS the big break you have been longing for???

Speechless... had no clue there was a football league in Europe, let alone Italy.

Great if Tebow signs with this team espn will be playing more Italian football highlights then nfl highlights.

Ok Jacksonville wouldn't give him a contract he is terrible. The sooner people figure that out the better we will all be.

the confirmation bias in this thread is very powerful my padawan learners....

The greatest player in the history of Italian football is Reggie Greene, former Siena RB: Reggie Greene calls it a (hall of fame) career on his terms - Mark McGuire

Greene was actually legitimately amazing at Siena and probably should have got a Danny Woodhead-like shot in the pros. Oh well.

And this is in the Patriots forum why? It should be in the nfl forum.

Check that. I'm not sure it even belongs there...
