Mike Tomlin, Steelers looking at a fine, and could lose a draft pick

He was being a **** for sure, but a draft pick? Ridiculous.

Fines all around and a one game suspension ought to send a message. Just because we were screwed doesn't mean we have to support the league screwing everyone.

I'm pretty sure that was my exact demand in the heat of the moment rant afterwards. So if this happens I'll feel less silly.

Money...I think there should be a standard fine for coaches' infractions of any variety. Whatever Bill paid in 2007 can be the number. $250K? How much did Shanahan pay for cheating the salary cap as GM of the Broncos in 1997 and 1998?

Taking a draft pick would be obscene. So they'll probably do that.

Taking a draft pick from the Steelers would be criminal imo. Tomlin is a class act who made mistake in the moment, slap him with a fine and make it clear that coaches need to stay away from the actual sideline during action. I honestly don't even think a suspension is warranted, and although I understand the point from Pats fans that if it were Belichick it would be treated as a capital offense that is still irrelevant to the situation. Tomlin shouldn't have to pay a steeper penalty than deserved because people are @ssholes about Belichick.

MEH ...............don't care either way.

Ridiculous if the take a draft pick. Give him a fine and keep it moving.

Nothing. Goodell will just put out a press release like the one he put out for the Panthers travesty..."Tomlin did nothing wrong...case closed"....everyone will scream and shout about this gross miscarriage and Goodell will fart in their general direction, being the run amok megalomaniac he is.

They should lose a draft pick. And then the NFL may finally understand its stupid to set bad precedents.

Like hell it doesn't...

has to be suspension or draft pick. that stunt could have cost ravens a playoff spot. way last year went, possibly a super bowl. have to show they won't tolerate this bull****.

Fine is ok, but a draft pick is going way too far. If Goodell effs over the Rooney family too, he won't be the commissioner for long.

This is a bit harsh. I know he was being a jerk(i found it hilarious) but losing a draft pick over this seems way too harsh. The Ravens still won the game so just slap him with a fine and move on.

I personally found it entertaining:D

A fine is the most sensible course of action given the situation.

Though, it wouldn't shock me to see a loss of draft pick. Even though that goes against the precedence set in somewhat similar cases (Sal Alosi), you never know with the NFL and their inconsistencies when it comes to sending messages.

Lets hope this happens!!!! Lol
I hope for Goodells downfall every day, but not at the expense of more injustice... especially to a solid ownership family like the Rooenys.

Well I finally looked at the play Tomlin was involved with and I have to say that it was the saddest, most blatant display of cheating I have ever seen by an NFL head coach. Totally premeditated too.
All belichick did was misplace a camera and they fined him AND Kraft a sum so large, many of us will not compile that much in our lifetime.
And as far as that draft pick...Hell yeah, I got no problem with that whatsoever. Take their 1st. Or what was pick we lost can't.. remember now. Gotta be fair afterall...naw take their first! Hahaha.
I wonder how they would react if it were Belichick's foot on the field of play.

So if all he gets is a fine, why shouldn't another coach do this during the playoffs? If the other harbaugh had tripped up Jacoby Jones during the super bowl he would have won. 100k fine for a championship? I'm sure the owner would be more than happy to pay it.

Check it out. After it becomes clear that Jacoby Jones is running down the Steelers' sideline, Tomlin positions himself closer to the field:
