What playoff field do you get when you pick the last remaining four weeks of the regular season?

AFC:

#1 Broncos 14-2
#2 Patriots 13-3
#3 Bengals 11-5
#4 Colts 10-6
#5 Chiefs 12-4
#6 Steelers 8-8

NFC

#1 Seahawks 15-1
#2 Saints 12-4
#3 Lions 10-6
#4 Cowboys 10-6
#5 Panthers 12-4
#6 49ers 11-5

Tidbits:

*JEST finish 6-10
*Houston 2-14 and holds the #1 pick
*Green Bay winning out with Rodgers but they still miss out on the playoffs.

An 8-8 Steelers squad would be a dangerous team IMO and could Denver a run if Big Ben's game is on.

It's interesting you brought up Houston because they have Great Talents on both sides of the lines and they are only a QB away from being a legitimate SB contender. I can see somebody like a Bill Cowher coming out of the woodworks for that job. Not much to fix there they have very good pieces lready in place.

Buf and Miami both at 7-9. Jets at 5-11.

Giants last place in NFC East at 5-11.

Houston gets to 5-11 and doesn't take first pick. First pick belongs to either the Bucs or Jaguars at 3-13.

If you pick games based on defensive rank, they project us to lose all of the next 4 games to finish 9-7 and get the 4th seed!

I think the Eagles take the division from the Cowboys in that week 17 matchup. Dallas has a knack for choking in games like that. Dolphins finish up 8-8 and the Jets go 6-10 for a second consecutive season.

Would be absolutely hilarious if it happened two years in a row.

I went with win %:

AFC:
1. Donkeys
2. Patriots
3. Orange kittens
4. Indians
5. Horseshoes
6. LOLphins

NFC:
1. Seahawks
2. Saints
3. Green birds of the east
4. Blue scumbags of the north
5. Blue kittens of the south
6. 69ers

I've been using NFL Prediction v0.02 by Clinton Morell all year to predict the season. As of last night, my seeds are:

1. DEN (13-3)
2. CIN (11-5)
3. IND (11-5)
4. NE (11-5)
5. KC (12-4)
6. BAL (9-7)

1. SEA (15-1)
2. NO (12-4)
3. PHI (11-5)
4. GB (9-6-1)
5. CAR (11-5)
6. SF (10-6)

Unfortunately, NE loses both road games (@MIA, @BAL) which has the double effect of dropping them to the 4 seed and putting Baltimore in the playoffs.

Don't be fooled by Green Bay's last 5 games, Rodgers is coming back and they're going to win out. Detroit loses to Philly and Baltimore to end up at 9-7 and out of the playoffs. Arizona misses the playoffs at 10-6. Jest miss the playoffs at 9-7 on a tiebreaker--good thing Baltimore beat them!

EDIT: And yes, I did pick the Jest to win in Carolina. Just a gut feeling.

I guess since we are reaching the last quarter of the season it is time to link to another related site, PlayoffStatus.com:

AFC Playoff Picture

NFC Playoff Picture

According to their numbers this is the current probabilities for the Patriots:

16% #1 seed
45% #2 seed
29% #3 seed
9% #4 seed
<1% #5 seed
1% #6 seed
<1% no playoffs

There is a good chance that patriots will win the Superbowl this year.

I am not sure if you all know Chinese astrology or even care but i thought this article was interesting.

"Each Chinese zodiac symbol rotates every 12 years. In January 1989, 24 years before Super Bowl XLVII, Joe Montana and the 49ers won Super Bowl XXIII. A dozen years after that, in January 2001, the Ravens won Super Bowl XXXV. Both years were Dragon Years.

Another connection between the Super Bowl champion Ravens and the Year of the Dragon is its history with the Year of the Rat. "Rats do great in Dragon years" Grinberg says. "They have one of the strongest bonds and the strongest energies between them."

Ravens owner Steve Biscotti was born in 1960 and the franchise was founded in 1996, both Rat Years. Joe Flacco, the Super Bowl XLVII MVP, is also a Rat (born in January 1985). Trent Dilfer, the Ravens quarterback on the Super Bowl XXXV team, is also a Rat (born in 1972).

Grinberg notes this is not the only championship example of the Dragon-Rat connection. Shaquille O'Neal, a Rat born in 1972, won his first title in 2000, the Year of the Dragon. As for the mirror image, Kevin Garnett, a Dragon born in 1976, won his first title in 2008, the Year of the Rat. Jim Brown, a legend in Grinberg's native Cleveland, is a Rat born in 1936. He won his first title in 1964, a Dragon Year."

This is about patriots..........

"What Will the Year of the Snake Bring to the NFL?
Sticking with football, Grinberg, 35, has his early Super Bowl XLVIII favorite: The New England Patriots."

"Tom Brady was born in the Year of the Snake and the last time it was the Year of the Snake, 2001, Tom Brady won his first title," Grinberg says. "Funny how that works.""

He made grammar mistake saying belichick is a ox. he meant to say he is a dragon. dragon and snake have the tightest best friend bond.

He also made a twitter post saying patriots will fail during playoffs last season and he was obviously correct.

This is another interesting part from the same article.

"Pigs do very, very poorly in Snake years. I'd say about 90 percent of Pigs will not do well in Snake Years," he says. "Rodgers -- his best days are behind him. I would not be surprised if the Packers don't even make

the playoffs next year. Aaron Rodgers is going to have an off year. Gore -- if San Francisco's smart, they'll cut or trade him. He's done."

After the Rodgers and Gore comments, Grinberg was asked to confirm what he was saying. He chuckled.

"I know exactly what I'm saying."

pig is the opposite sign of the snake and they are antagonistic towards each other.

If you all remember 2007(year of the pig) where tom was humiliated in the superbowl you will get the picture. Sure we had the best run that year but it was all set up to oppose brady. many of the defenders on the giants team were born in sign of pig. Justin tuck and strahan were both born in pig years.

the weirdest thing about this whole thing? I think the new england patriots are born under pig(1959?) . this is probably why despite tom's humility and great character he still gets a lot of negative press.

I heard many people say "they like tom but they don't like patriots". This is interesting.

If you all want to check what year chinese zodaic animals correspond to then you can just google it.

Well that certainly saves me a lot of tension watching the playoffs this winter :p

I apologize if you guys find posts like that annoying or whatnot. I only posted it because i do feel like things just come together in certain years for certain teams and i felt there was a pattern.

To be honest i like when patriots teams are flying under the radar and are being dismissed. this is when we often win the SB. As much as i love Tom i wish he wouldn't be so damn charismatic and put all the spotlight on us being contenders or whatever.

I much prefer the quieter and more cunning route being a snake myself in the Chinese zodiac :D

I apologize. Even though I am an astronomer and not an astrologer I found your posts entertaining. Sorry for my snark.

I don't mind! I like a sense of humor :rocker:

I don't see the Pats losing both road games. They may lose one, but not both. I don't think either of those teams have the offense to keep up with the Pats if they can't slow down Brady, Gronk, and company and I can't see both teams slowing down the Pats' offense.

I think any team that plays Denver in the Divisional round will give them a run. They have one-and-done written all over them. Soft receivers, a QB who can't play in the cold, and a weak secondary.

I made the mistake of rooting for the Ravens last year because I wanted HFA in the AFCCG. Not making that mistake again. I hope Denver somehow makes it that far this time around. That will give us our best chance at advancing to the SB.

The Miami game could go either way, but I've chalked the Baltimore game as a loss since day 1 because you know Flacco is just going to throw it deep every play and draw PI if it doesn't work.
