Stallworth No Deal Yet

Donte Stallworth, who visited Foxborough and reportedly agreed to a deal with the New England Patriots on Tuesday, left town to make other visits. The report from Comcastsportsnet.com yesterday, which claimed Drew Rosenhaus, Stallworth's agent, confirmed the signing was apparently incorrect. While the website pulled the story, some other local Boston based media outlets were still running news of the signing late last night.

PatriotsInsider.com has confirmed that Stallworth did not sign a deal in New England and is indeed meeting with the Tennessee Titans next. He is scheduled to meet with the Miami Dolphins next.

The Patriots did extend Stallworth an offer, but it was not accepted.

More Receivers Coming?

PatriotsInsider.com has learned the Patriots have been speaking with other free agent receivers on the market. After trading for Miami's Wes Welker on Monday, and meeting with Stallworth, New England is looking for other options. The Randy Moss to New England rumor has not been confirmed, but some others have.

others?

hmmmm..who would be "others"?

Washington from Cincy maybe? I've heard rumblings about him and the Pats

Moulds and Wade maybe?

Didn't Wade sign??? Minn or???

I would suggest Travis Taylor 6-1 210, 29 Florida with who the Vikes and Childress have had run-ins. He has had seasons of 50 and 60+ receptions. Your basic "red chip" solid pro; not a big star player, the kind that BB favors (because he can afford more of them).

It sort of helps that he is a Florida receiver, reminscent of Caldwell and Gaffney. He would fit in with CJ and Kight and the Pats could have a virtually "All-Gator", "All Southern" receiving corps.

How about TJ Who'syourmamma?

The guy is talanted and has a level head. Seeing how Cincy appears to be letting go of the guys who haven't been arrested (Brian Simmons) an unhappy TJ would be inline with those plans.

what happened to stokely? has he signed?

No stokley see another thread about HIM...Brokly as some call him...a slot receiver and injured...NOT needed...Wade is with Minn...and?? Housh..I guess is still a bengal and wants to stay there...I DO like him..but?? Would be hard to trade...

I don't know if Kevin Curtis has signed with anyone yet? I got caught up with all these signings here that didn't even pay attention to where he went. Or IF he went? If available, he would be the next best option after Stallworth, IMO.

He just fired his agent so he has to wait 5 days before he can sign anywhere. I think it was two days ago so he has about 3 more days before he can sign.

It was thought that he was going to Detroit. But honestly it would be close to having two Welker's on the team. Curtis has him by an inch or so. I would like to see them trade for TJ or sign a bigger body receiver like a Moulds to at least get us through this season - so that we can see where Jackson is development wise.
