NBC not going to flex out the Giants - Redskins Week 13 SNF game

NY NFC is Market #1.
I am not surprised.

Yeah, I'm not surprised either. NFC East games feature some of the largest markets playing against each other. Even if they're mediocre teams (like this year), it'll be a draw.

Remember how the Pats set a record for most-watched cable broadcast for, IIRC, the Ratbirds game in 2007?

That record now belongs to a random NFC East game.

The NFL already took one Broncos/Chiefs game away from CBS, and now they can't flex any more Broncos games into prime time (since their scheduling rules prohibit teams from playing more than six prime time games in a single season).

Here are your available choices:
JAX-CLE
TB-CAR
CHI-MIN
NE-HOU
TEN-IND
MIA-JEST
ARI-PHI
ATL-BUF*
STL-SF*
CIN-SD*
*Late games

GB-DET, OAK-DAL, and PIT-BAL are on Thanksgiving, and the one other good game, SEA-NO, is already on Monday Night Football.

Yep, great point on the generally terrible slate of available games this week. Arizona-Philly has the potential to be a good game, but it's not even close to the ratings draw of Gints/Skins.

Arizona-Philly is a better match-up.

Heh, we posted at the same time, but I agree. It's the better matchup, but you can't beat the automatic ratings that come with a NYC1-Washington game.

Arizona-Philly is a better match-up.

If the point were simply good match-ups and interesting games, the NFL would put the Patriots in primetime as much as possible.

Let's all hope that they tell Bob Costas that the game has been flexed to the West Coast. Not that I would watch him anyway.

Cardinals (#6) @ Eagles (#4)
Titans (#6-T) @ Colts (#3)
Dolphins (#6-T) @ Jets (#6-T)
Bengals (#4) @ Chargers (#6-T)

All are clearly better games, with all teams involved being a current playoff team or tied record wise for a spot.

I will not watch a single second of SNF this week. An absolute disgrace.

Don't get me started on that uppity little chipmunk.

I would show the Giants and Redskins. That would clearly be the rating winner among the games. After all, the point of showing games is to show ones that the most fans are interested in watching.

Obviously, folks here want to see one of the top 5 teams in the NFL play one of the very worst (probably the very worst). We can all watch the game. But there is no reason to make the rest of the country watch.

The CIN-SD game, the obvious alternative, will already be seen by most of the country.
