Graham to Denver

Tight end Daniel Graham has agreed to a contract with the Denver Broncos tonight. The deal is for five years and $30 million, with $15 million guaranteed.

Graham, the Patriots' first-round draft choice in 2002, had visited the Broncos, Raiders and Seahawks.

Having grown up in Denver, and having attended the University of Colorado, this is a homecoming for Graham.

Wow 15 mill?!?!?

Good for Graham, he gets his big payday and gets to go home.

How does that rate with other TE salaries?

NE might be grabbing headlines, but Denver is quietly having a very good offseason.

I still think he'll do more blocking than he likes. Their other TE Scheffler was clicking with Cutler and looks to be more of a receiving option.

Not a shocker, but did some nice things for us... Denver seemed like the logical choice..

It took a little longer than I thought but Daniel Graham is going back home thanks for your time with the Patriots.

Wow, out of all the ridiculous contracts this offseason, that one may be the worst. Graham is certainly a good player, but I don't think anyone would say he is special.

It makes me shudder b/c Dallas Clark is a free agent next year.

Agree totally. If he was looking for the best role it would be Seattle since he'd be the receiving threat there as well.

Ick, Denver is a close third behind Colts/Jets for team I'd least like one of our ex-players to land. Ick Ick Ick!!!!!

congratulations, and a disappointing but fond farewell to grahambo.

Pfft. Good luck re-signing him next year the way the Monopoly money is flying. Can't wait for that ****er to no longer be a Colt. (FYI, that is a compiment.)

They should have went after McMichael instead. IMO he is similar to horseface Sharpe. but hey they would rather pay 6 mil a year for for a blocking TE who may or may not be able to be a better reciever.

except they still have Jay Cutler and Rod Smith is older than the Pyramids.

He's dead to me.

I hate the Broncos more than any other team. But ever hear of Javon Walker? You know the one who lit us up last year? Rod Smith is a role player at this point, non-factor. Brandon Marshall will likely start.

And Jay Cutler looked pretty good end of last year for a guy who got throw into the fire mid-season on a team with a ton of expectations.

I hate to say it, but that is going to be a real good team next year.

I don't understand why so many here are convinced Cutler sucks. He had a pretty fantastic rookie year. Something like an 88.5 rating; you don't often see that from rookie QBs. He will be very good.

I don't like it. I hate Ratface.

As a neutral observer, I'm not all that impressed with Cutler either. Great arm strength and accuracy, but I question his pocket prescence and don't think he is a great leader/competitor. I personally thought he was a guy who got overhyped last year b/c he's the type that looks great in a scouting combine but not as good in a real game. I could be wrong, but that's what I've seen in the few games I've seen him in college/pros.

Graham is from Colorado, his dad played for Denver and he played catch with Shannon Sharpe when he was younger.

Nobody can objectively be upset about him signing there, no matter how much you might hate the Broncos. He had some great games for us and served us very well while he was here. I'm happy for him.

they will play in a division that will beat up each other. I have heard of Javon Walker. The Pats next step will be to solidify their secondary.

As for Cutler.. he's essentually still a rookie. You don't think BB can manipulate him? Also last year Jake Plummer was qb against the Pats and that was when the big play hurt the pats. rememebr wrong angle by sanders?
