I wanted Stallworth in the worst way, but like I said , when a guy leaves the Pats to see what else is out there , he is not going to sign here.. So That still leaves WR and ILB as a need.. I seriously doubt Moss is coming here, and not sure I want him, so maybee Kelly Washington and Eric Moulds could be on the radar.. I would like to see maybe Hartwell , but he has some bad knee's .. But for those who think we are set at WR, are sorley mistaken...

But Im still holding a glimmer of hope Stallworth signs doubtful though...

Pointless thread until we know what happens.

WR imo, is no longer a need. we are fine with the aquisition of Welker. Cj will be back to spread the field and empty the zones. Welker is gonna have a 1000 yd season, or CJ is gonna be wide open, or Gaffney/Reche will be drifting free in traffic, or Watson will be standing alone in the seam 20 yds downfield. We will be fine.

Yeah, I lost hope (and interest) when he didn't accept the offer (if that is what happened).

I think we need another WR, if not a FA, then a first day draft pick. It doesn't matter which, except that if we can sign a decent WR FA and draft a good CB a lot cheaper than we can sign a decent CB FA and draft a good WR.

So I would rather sign a FA WR and draft a CB in round 1.

Since we no longer have a second round pick, those two first round choices are important. We had huge needs at LB and WR, and have addressed those. If we were to sign another LB (like Donnie Edwards) and another WR (like Stallworth) then the first round could be devoted to a CB and a S.

Or a TE and OG :D

Just a hunch, when was the last player you knew was offered a contract and still wanted to keep looking , and then went back to the first offer.. I just cant recall one player, I may be wrong, but I cant remember...

sometimes these things take time he has rosenhouse as his agent so im sure he is calling the shots once he visits titans and phins hell make his mind up, its kind of a no brainer to me so lets hope for the best, multiple visits are part of the process we are just spoiled by the recent signings

Kind of true, but I rather have gotten a deal done than for him to shop around..

I'm hoping for LB Donnie Edwards, or a safety (Grant? Hamlin?).

He may decide he wants Tom Brady throwing to him and not Vince Young or Culpepper.

Unless it some 12 million guranteed money, they he could care less if its Cleo Lemon, he is getting paid..

I'm hoping for Moss. That would pretty much ensure we win the next Lombardi.

Which if that is the case it's a good indication he wouldn't have been a good fit here anyway.

Sean, you need to look into anti-anxiety meds or mood levelers or something...

We've plugged some tricky holes in the first 4 days of FA signing 4 new players, each of whom appears tailor made for what we do here. We still have 2 firsts and a third and several day 2 draft picks to come. There are several teams struggling with their cap position again this season, so there will likely be some June 1 cuts this season. Chill.

Leonard Davis three days ago.

Left Dallas to talk to Washington, then went back to Dallas to sign the deal.

:agree:

Stallworth is a boom or bust scenario, anyway. He'd have to come here on our terms.

I think it would take two years. The last two years without Moss the Raiders were 15-17. The two years they had Moss they were 6-26. If we could match a drop like that, we'd get great draft picks and get back to the superbowl easily in 2009.

Even without Stallworth I am fine with our WRs headed into the year. Welker as the reliability guy, Gaffney as the everything guy, Caldwell as the 15+ yard guy (which is what I think he is best at, rather than posession), and wait-and-see with Chad because of his injury. I actually didn't think Stallworth would be a great fit, especially for the money, because I don't think it's the biggest need anymore.

I dont want a rookie WR though... We have seen how that has worked out..

there is no way you judge one rookie to another, pointless

How is it pointless, besides Terry Glenn, and Randy Moss.. What other Rookie Wr has made a huge impact.. Wr is a hard postion to learn for a rookie, espically with our offense..

I don't really know how badly the Pats wanted him.I'd assume he (or his position) isn't high priority enough to warrant as much aggression as they've shown thus far in FA.
It sounds like they would take him if the price was right but they also know his agent all too well and if it isn't going to happen so be it. I don't see them getting into a drama over it. They gave up a pick (low, but still a pick) in order to escape a drama with Miami and they wanted him that badly. I'm not sure the Pats want Stallworth that badly.
