Without looking it up, how many NFL points has Welker scored?

Hint: Interestingly and surprisingly, as Pats fans should remember, the answer is NOT divisible by 6.

I would guess 16.

Would that be because it includes a couple of field goals in 2004 against a certain team from New England? :D

2 field goals =6. I think a field goal and a PAT?

He would have had to score on a 2 point conversion to make that true imo.

Yup. He has a receiving TD, a return TD, a field goal, and an XP.

No wonder Belichick likes him. Throw a drop kick in there, and he might have gotten $19 million.

Actually, it's also reported that he kicked a 57 yarder in high school.

A couple years ago(?), if I remember this right, he ran a kick back for a TD, kicked his own PAT, kicked off, then (I think) made the tackle on the kickoff.

He also has a blue ox named Babe.

IIRC there used to be a kicker in NE pre-Gost who had a TD pass, a two point conversion and a few TDs and XPs and no I don't mean Gino Cappelletti.

He did. If I recall that was in a state title fame or maybe his last game I forget though.

In 2004, Welker became the second player in NFL history to return a kickoff and a punt, kick an extra point and a field goal, and make a tackle in the same game.

Yes, but he had a miserable average returning kicks and punts... ;)

Who was the first....

The best compliment of all is when Rodney admitted the Pats had to double team Welker as no single defender could cover him. That bodes well for this type of offense. Teams can't afford to double the #3 WR. Welker should open up the passing lane for Watson.

While at TT Welker had three returns for TD's in a single game.

The second best compliment is when Tom Brady managed to make it to Foxboro on Monday in time to have a sit down with his new slot receiver.

He was busy though and didn't hang around to schmooze Donte Tuesday...;)

BTW Wes will be on WEEI with Dale and Holley in the next little while.
