He also could have never gotten to the ball. His feet weren't even on the ground. How could he walk to the ball with his feet in the air like that?
Yeah, you could tell that Gronk asked Kuechly to carry him to the locker room. Gronk knew the game was over before the pass was thrown.

That couldn't have anything to do with him being bearhugged and pushed backwards now could it? And even if you want to go with idea that he couldn't have caught the ball he was still BEING HELD which is at the very least a holding penalty and 5 yards. Its one or the other.

Agreed, its the only logical explanation. And Gronk explained it to the ref, which is why he said no penalty. Kuechly was only trying to help, the poor guy does something good and gets bad press for it
If the NFL now says that once the ball is in the Air, the call can only be pass interference, what prevents a defensive player from tackling his assignment (away from ball) just for the heck of it once the ball is in the air?
