You can see from that picture that the pass was un-catchable. Gronk couldn't get his arms up. Any ref could see that.

He also could have never gotten to the ball. His feet weren't even on the ground. How could he walk to the ball with his feet in the air like that?

Yeah, you could tell that Gronk asked Kuechly to carry him to the locker room. Gronk knew the game was over before the pass was thrown.

David Silverman. Best. Photographer. Ever.

Agreed, its the only logical explanation. And Gronk explained it to the ref, which is why he said no penalty. Kuechly was only trying to help, the poor guy does something good and gets bad press for it

That couldn't have anything to do with him being bearhugged and pushed backwards now could it? And even if you want to go with idea that he couldn't have caught the ball he was still BEING HELD which is at the very least a holding penalty and 5 yards. Its one or the other.

lol, great stuff. Fred Kirsch is a riot....

If that picture doesn't pound the point home that it was OBVIOUS then nothing will.

LOL, we were so, so jobbed.

And, BTW, I was actually referring as much to the headline as the picture. :D

If the NFL now says that once the ball is in the Air, the call can only be pass interference, what prevents a defensive player from tackling his assignment (away from ball) just for the heck of it once the ball is in the air?

Yup. perfect Jest fan logic. We don't want to suck like the Jest tho.

The cover is hilarious. I'd laugh except I want to cry.

I didn't watch the Blandino statement (because he's a shmuck who also stood by the "pushing" penalty despite describing it totally incorrectly in a video to everyone), but did they really say the only call could be pass interference? What about defensive holding? Bill Barnwell laid it out here pretty well.

So it wouldn't have been 1st and goal at the 1, but at the 13 with one untimed down. Sure, I'd rather have that, but it isn't necessarily a guarantee of victory either.

Credit to the Panthers, especially to Cam Newton. He kept alive some drives with some huge 3rd-down plays, with both his arm and his feet (8 of 11 on 3rd down, 4 of those on rushes for a total of 56 yards). He was great against pressure (8 of 11 with a TD against the blitz). The Panthers deserved the win.

Talib lost his mind for a while and cost us a huge penalty, and wasn't his usual self. Mankins detonated a promising drive with a stupid penalty. Ridley fumbled away points in the red zone. We had our chances and didn't capitalize.

I think it's amazing we even had a chance at the end considering how effectively the Panthers were able to drive and how many bone-headed mistakes we made. And it sucks that it ended the way it did. But kudos to the Panthers.

It's time to move on to Denver.

Sadly, there are those who see some truth to this statement. I read yesterday that Amani Toomer wondered why Gronkowski didn't come back for the ball and questioned his heart. It's like he completely ignored that Kuechly was involved in the play also.
