Randy Moss not only makes Brady Better, He makes Watson, Maroney, Welker all Much Better, Not too mention the O-Cordinator look like a Genius. When Randy Is on his game, he can change the way a D-fence plays us, like no other player can.

If Welker is worth a second and Branch is worth a First.

I say a chance that Moss Could Live up to his talent is Worth a First, Easily.

Not with that contract.

While he may be worth a first, there are other options this team can go in, and I think it is too much of a risk without enough guaranteed reward; therefore, I believe (and hope) it will stay a rumor, and nothing more.

Lower the Base and let him Make it up with incentives,
If He plays up to his potential he's worth every pennie.
year 1 9.75 mil
year 2 11 mil

i agree he could be. i would say lets give them a 3rd rounder this year and a 3rd rounder next year that could escalate into a 2nd depending on incentives he reaches this season. (yardage, touchdowns, games played, ect.)

Welcome aboard! Thanks for doing your part to help the Raiders climb out of their self-imposed deathtrap.

Ok i usually don't do this but......

Thanks for another "Randy Moss would make this team good" threads.

There's a problem, if I am even gettin tired of seing them.

As to the original question. If Branch is worth the 24th overall pick in this draft then Moss is easily worth two or three times that value.

But Moss' value to a team like the Pats extends beyond pure draft value.

It's getting closer to circle-jerk status that does that, you're picking up gravitas!

I'd give up a first rounder as well, especially since we have 2 and they are both so late.

How many stiffs have been drafted in the first round in the NFL? This guy has proven what he can do, he just needs a kick in the arse. I think Belichick can work his magic on him.

Bring on Defensive Floss'n Randy Moss'n

Sorry. This isn't 2002.

I'm tired of hearing about Moss. If he gets on the Patriots. cool. if he doesn't, cool. but my god, leave it alone. he isn't worth a 1st round pick in my mind, some people are saying that the Patriots offered a second round pick in 2008, some are saying there has been no conversation between the two teams. who knows. just leave it be. don't worry about stuff you can't control - josh beckett

I think you need to consider what kind of production it would take to be worth every penny of 20.75mill in 2 years, plus a first round pick. Then look at the last time Randy Moss came close to those kind of numbers.
Excuses like who the QB was don't cut it with me when talking about a guy who underproduces because he admittedly doesn't care.

My take on Moss is he worth picking up only under the conditions where we have nothing to lose.
A day 2 pick, and a sever restructure of the contract to where it is primarily incentive based.
If there is nothing, or little to lose, I'd like him here, but there is a huge chance that if he came here he would flop, be in the doghouse, and it would be a terrible move.

if that was the case then there would be no one on this forum. what else are we gonna talk about in march? the new turf on the field?

Actually, I like the new turf. I am hoping we will see guys like David Thomas, Wes Welker, Ben Watson, Kevin Faulk on the underneath routes turn on a dime and get some good YAC.

Thank you Andy. The guy is lazy. He takes plays off when he knows he wont see the ball, thereby tipping the hat to the D what the play is. He wont practice if he doesn't feel like it. Never mind practice hard like you play, which is the Pats way. He is poison in the locker room. He is very disruptive to young players. He runs sloppy routes and only wants the home run ball. He is known to throw tantrums if he doesn't see enough touches in a game. Plain and simple: the guy is junk. Other than that, I have no problem with him.

OT Stallworth comes with some of the same baggage. Lets hope if there is a signing there, its like you said above....
