Big head is coming to town. I wanted a snow storm but doesn't look like it.

D is going to have a really tough time. If Dennard/Talib can't go. They will have to get in a shoot out. Arrington will be the key IMO and that's scary

Looks like it's going to be up to our D-line to put pressure on Manning. Maybe Chandler Jones will have the best game of his career.

Why is everyone discounting this team. You are all chicken littles. We just moved the ball on the top D tonight really well. Scored some good points on them. Had we not fumbled, or made a bonehead penalty, we at least have 6 more points to that 20. We ***** the bed tonight. Even though we got screwed, we were the loser tonight. We didn't play well enough to win.

But the o line is definitely and issue going forward. If scar can't get them even remotely good, we will keep $hitting the bed on good Dlines.

The defense, did look bad, but what happened was no pressure. That's the problem. No D can let cam have all day, then scramble and get guys open. We need pressure. That can help the D immensely.

I am certainly not going to be discounting this team. Two of our losses ended in controversy. The offense looks significantly better and Gronk/Vereen are difference makers. Defensive injuries are the major problem. If anyone can win with a defense this depleted by injuries it's the Patriots.

Granted the Broncos are going to be a pain in the arse, but hopefully without Welker. We need pressure on Manning though or it will inevitably be a shoot out. It might be even with pressure. Trying not to think of this game at the moment. I'd prefer to drain some more beers and numb this!

I can't speak for anyone else, but I know for a fact that I am normally much closer to a homer than a chicken little. I try to be very reasonable and I consider myself a realist.

The way I see it is that the only real chance that we have with the 2013 team is to somehow get the 2nd seed and first round bye. That should enable us to have a good shot at making the AFCCG. Other than that, we have waaaay too many injuries on defense. We're now down to 5/11 starters on defense in a year where we are basically rebuilding on offense, and have some issues on the offensive line etc.

I thought this team was like our 2006 team. Lots of issues but a lot of heart and a possibility of going 12-4 and making it to the AFCCG. It seems like we're closer to the 2005 or 2009 teams though, at least in my opinion.

As far as the rest of the season (post DEN game which I fully expect to be a loss), we should have a shot at winning the last 5 and hopefully getting some help to be in the running for the 2 seed and first round bye. If we end up losing one of those last 5, that will leave us at 11-5 which is probably going to be the 3 or 4 seed this year with IND and CIN battling for the number 2. I hardly think the season is over, but losing Talib (again) and not knowing the severity of Dennard is not looking too good. That leaves us down 3/4 of our starting secondary now with Gregory set to miss another game or two at best. That leaves way too many holes and forces guys like the rookies and Cole to have to step up, which is an obvious problem.

The issue is that we've been in this position now for many years in a row.

No pressure at all. NONE whatsoever.

I'm going to the game with two Pats fans...and a lady GB fan...and another lady Dallas fan...they hate the Pats but they hate Denver more...weird, I know...nice girls but I'm glad they're with my buddies...already lived in football hell with a Cowgirl....without Welker, I wonder what the storyline will be??

today's game was big loss wrt to playoff seedings. now indy holds the tie breaker and cincy is just 1 game behind and i dont think indy's schedule is that hard anymore.
Our D is as patchwork as it gets decimated across the board. Dont know how we stop the broncos offense. Pressure will be huge on our offense to be perfect.

I think because newton was running crazy they had to bring a line gap pass rush I think chan jones was the only guy they let free cause he his the talent to get after newton,

but even with that said im not looking for them to get to manning to much if KC could not get to him I don't see more then a chan jones sack vs Manning and not much pressure at all cause they will be on there toes all night in zone not rushing more then 4 and even 3 at times

If Talib, Dennard and Gregory (probably not?) are healthy I'll feel significantly better. Though they haven't been bad IMO, I can't stand the idea of Arrington, Ryan, and Harmon trying to stop Peyton Manning.

Secondary health is a HUGE concern -- Dennard out tonight, Gregory out tonight and surely for the Broncos, Arrington gimpy tonight with a chronic issue, Talib gimpy tonight with a chronic issue.

Of course, Welker is a great health concern for the Broncos' receivers. At this rate, maybe the Broncos will play Champ Bailey at receiver, and the Patriots will have Julian Edelman covering him ... oh, wait, Bailey is Doubtful himself.

That defense is worse than pittsburgh's defense.

Vereen will have 100+ receiving yards against Denver.

...already lived in football hell with a Cowgirl....

I married into a family full of Cboy fans, and am forced to watch my poor wife go through hell every week with that crazy ass-backwards team. It's just out of respect for her since she supports my team too. My life is either watching NE practically wear my heart out every week, or watching the dysfunction of the Cowboys...or many times, both.

Bengals/Browns 11/28/04 and its 106 combined points is on notice.

I got lucky with that my wife was a 49ers fan before I married her and I also like the 49ers but all my kids rock pats gear :rocker:

Gregory isn't going to play in 6 days. He obviously won't be practicing this week. He's scheduled to miss what they deemed as a "few weeks," although one of them was a bye. Tonight's game was his first missed game, so the thinking is that it'll be at least 2-3 games before he returns. Hopefully it can be in time for the game at HOU.

Dennard's situation is way up in the air. He apparently had a knee injury where he couldn't practice last week, so I think he's about 50/50 to play vs DEN. We'll know more this week obviously.

Talib's situation is touch and go for the rest of his damn career
. Even if they say he may play vs DEN in 6 days (which is probably doubtful since of the shortened week), he can have his chronic grandpa him flare up at ANY given time. As we saw tonight vs Steve Smith, he isn't the same anyway and is obviously either rusty, hurting, or both. I have a hard time imagining how he'll successfully cover Demarius Thomas even if he does play.

The reality of the situation is that we'll likely be depending upon both rookies in Ryan and Harmon, along with Marquice Cole, and....hopefully Arrington (he's been really banged up too, and re-aggrevated his injury tonight). If we're able to get just ONE of Talib/Dennard back I will be very, very happy. Our secondary isn't looking too good, and I think we dropped the ball a bit by not bringing in one more player earlier in the year. Just my opinion though. It's Belichick's team and his record speaks for itself. I just think we left ourselves a bit thin. A vet safety or CB would've been a good security blanket in my opinion.

If Talib and Dennard are out for Denver, I'm sorry but we have no shot. I really don't even like our chances if ONE of them is out. Either scenario is very likely.

Talib couldn't finish the game. I'm sure his hip is going to be a problem coming down the stretch. He clearly wasn't very effective tonight. I know Talib is typically better against the bigger receivers than the shorter/shiftier ones...so that could've been part of the problem. Either way, we are DEPLETED on D going against a ridiculous offense.

IF Dennard and Talib are back, we've got a good chance. Peyton got the ball out very quick this past week against a very good pass rush. He makes it virtually impossible to get to him when he does that. We're going to have to play good man to man (with Dennard and Talib) and then disguise what we're doing in the middle of the field with some mix of zones/man.

I think we can move the ball and score on Denver but I just worry that we won't have the horses to be able to fairly match up in the secondary.

You keep saying that JMC00. I hope you're right about this one.

I tend to agree that DEN is limited on defense in some way, but I'm not sure that I see them quite as awful as you do. I'm thinking that we should be able to score in the high 20's at worst. The question is how much DEN will score.

One thing I absolutely can't stand is seeing our team lose in back to back games. One loss at a time is difficult enough. With our inability to get pressure, one has to wonder how much Manning will pick apart those mismatches.

- Weak o-line

- Can't get to the QB if life depended on it

- Defense murdered with injuries

- Incompetent offensive coordinator

Our only hope is Brady and his arm
