Hurd explained that during his time with the Cowboys, he distributed weed to 20 or 25 teammates.

“Whatever was considered the loudest weed in California—I wanted a notch above that,” Hurd said. “I had educated myself on different strains and potencies and growing techniques. I was very selective. It was like wine.”
Pretty sure Jerry Jones smoked along with this guy, thats the only logical explanation for the decisions Jerry makes.

I was just reading this story. Maybe the inmate was smoking a joint in the car to and from the stadium if the test is that easy to get around.

If it were legalized, I wouldn't at all be surprised to see a big snob culture around the different strains like beer and wine now. That guy has a point.

Nothing to see here move along.

We had a safety Willie Andrews about a decade a go who got busted with a pound of pot. You can bet some that was intended for players in the locker room.

I have also had some friends through the years that have smoked with some players who I will leave nameless for obvious reasons.

I might be wrong but I beleive the tests for substance and for perfomance enhancers are seperate and one random the other scheduled unless you are in the program already. Just hearsay as I am going out of memory and things could have changed or could just outright be misremembering.

There already is a culture around the strains. Personally I am a big fan of the Kush;).

Yes, I believe that to be true. An obvious question then would be, why don't they randomize all the tests? I'm no conspiracy theorist but perhaps they know how many smoke and would just rather they not get caught.

So many different strains of Kush. Which one? I stick mostly to sativa strains.

It's more like a guy telling you "this stuff is FIRE, man" as opposed to "Hmmm...oaky undertone, exquisite aftertaste..."

NFL players probably get some LOUD. Wouldn't be surprised if half the NFL is cookin during the offseason.

More likely, JJ is dropping acid. Public comments clearly indicate that he is hallucinatory.

Weed has absolutely no adverse health effects, why is this still a story in 2013?

Yet it's totally acceptable that they drink every week?

Hey Sam, welcome to the club...................................

It's changing slowly. Old people were lied to about weed and they fell for it hook line and sinker. They're dying off slowly.

Soon. Soon we'll all be able to decide if we want to consume this plant.

re: Sam Hurd "I smoked pot every day along with 20-25 other Cowboys"

Probably true for every locker room in the NFL.

re: Sam Hurd "I smoked pot every day along with 20-25 other Cowboys"

I think the true numbers of NFL players that enjoy weed would shock us and also believe the NFL leaves them alone. Can anyone imagine what would happen if they were all tested positive?

Lets get back to that other circus down in South Florida.....

I think the underlying thought would be innocent until proven guilty but this could apply to performance enhancers as well and really comes down to what was agreed upon in the CBA. In order to get the perfomance enhancing testing in they probably had to agree to give the benefit of the doubt regarding substances.

re: Sam Hurd "I smoked pot every day along with 20-25 other Cowboys"

This contrasts with the Larry Bird Celtics, who swore off beer until they won a title.

re: Sam Hurd "I smoked pot every day along with 20-25 other Cowboys"

So gross the government is allowed to lock people in cages for a plant. Such a shame the prison-industrial complex exists in this country.

Do you think there's a reason the #1 draft pick in Jerry McGuire is named Kush?
