How do we feel when Peyton throws 51 TDs?

He's beyond pace and he'll get them even when the weather goes down. He's going to win a 5th MVP. We make fun if Peyton doesn't win a ring, but what do we say about Brady if he doesn't win again?

If it happens, does it matter? Does it "really" mean anything other than being a stat?

Super Bowls count.....that's why they have them.

I thought he was behind toms pace at this time of the year? I am gonna wait for talib and mccourty have ints and hold forehead to 1 TD.

I couldn't care less.

I was happy for Brady when he threw for 50, but it really was an empty feat without the Super Bowl ring. So as long as Manning doesn't win the Super Bowl, I don't care.

I am just going to be sick with all the Manning ball washing going on by the media.

The rules are so skewed in favor of Offenses now. The TD record will be broken over and over again.

He'll still be, what, 9-11 when it matters?

I could care less. Like I said in the other topic, Brady's record was never going to stand for long. This is the era of passing and those records are going to go down, including Brady's. If it doesn't happen this year, it will happen soon.

The only record I'd like to see Brady go after is tie Terry Bradshaw's and Joe Montana's NFL record and you know which one I'm talking about. I'd rather see him get that record than have all the others. That record will say a lot more about Brady than the TD passing record.

I do think it's fascinating that a lot of Pats fans embrace stats and records these days... when 10 years ago we mocked people who did the same thing...I wonder what changed.

My point exactly.

The NFL is turning into the stat happy MLB... and those records don't mean squat anymore.

I like Super Bowls and winning and all that, above all else of course. But I also think it's pretty cool Brady holds the record. It helps put an exclamation point on the historically good season he had. I'm not embarrassed to admit that, as a fan of the Patriots and of Brady, I'll be a bit disappointed if Manning breaks the record.

Its getting ridiculous. Today Jaworski was talking about Incognito and how he is not a good guy, and he said "There are many more Peyton Mannings in the NFL than Richie Incognitos" as if Manning is the gold standard of good guy.

Let's wait until after the KC-NE-KC stretch before we concede it to him.

That's not great news >>> RT @bylindsayhjones Peyton Manning says he's really sore. Will have an MRI tomorrow.

Peyton does not let his RBs touch the ball inside the 5.Brady is run first. Peyton is king of the 1 yd TD

The football gods sure are smiling at the Chiefs this year.

Now there's a record I don't want anyone else to touch. 16-0....

That TD stat has no meaning or any value.

Aaron Rodgers could've easily broken it in 2011 had he not sat that final game. He was at 45 at point and Flynn threw 6 of 'em. And yet the Packers went one and done while being embarrassed at home. It wouldn't have meant anything then, and it won't mean anything now if it happens.

That's the moral of story, stats don't mean **** without a ring to back it up.

I don't care.

I think 2007 distorted a lot of things for people. Manning has always been the stats guy, he's consistently always thrown for more TDs and more yards (and more INTs) than Brady.

What made Brady better was winning games.

Whether Manning breaks the record or not, he already has a 49-TD season and will always have the statistical edge on Brady overall. But when it comes to big wins, nope.

Just ask Jim Irsay:

"Brady never had consistent numbers, but he has three of these," Irsay said, flashing his Super Bowl ring once again. "Pittsburgh had two, the Giants had two, Baltimore had two and we had one. That leaves you frustrated.

"You make the playoffs 11 times, and you're out in the first round seven out of 11 times. You love to have the 'Star Wars' numbers from Peyton and Marvin [Harrison] and Reggie [Wayne]. Mostly, you love this."

Jim Irsay implies one championship under Peyton Manning wasn't enough - latimes.com

So Peyton can continue with the Star Wars numbers. All I care about is ring #4.

10 games in he has 33, the same as Brady.
