Zach Sudfeld had a solid game vs NO (I wish he was still NE's #2 TE)

Nothing major, but I was watching him play and he really looked good running routes. If he had a better QB throwing him passes (like, um, TFB), I think you'd really have a nice #2 TE by year's end. I really think the Pats got rid of this kid too early. I know his first two games sucked in NE, but you cannot expect much from an un-drafted rookie so early.

He could be used, too; now the the Pats are limiting Gronk's reps. It would be really nice to plug in a moderate receiving threat like Sudfeld. Hoo-man doesn't even get covered when he runs a route.

I was at the game (my mom is a huge Jet fan so took her to the game), and yes Sudfeld looked very good, BUT Salas looked even better. I wish the Pats had shown some patience with both, I really think they both have a ton of talent and will become good NFL players. Oh well, teams make mistakes, look at Welker and Amendola, both undrafted, cut by several teams, and both very good receivers.

Wow! We're talking Hooman like numbers there.

we are stacked at that position no need to hoard unnecessary pieces. I'm glad he's getting playtime elsewhere, probably wouldnt have seent he field if he stayed here

I was also intrigued with his size and agility. However, many TEs are about that height, but stronger.

Handing over two receptions to the defense might be an indicator of why he was let go. There are few unimpeded caches in the NFL. If this guy's soft it will override what ability he has.

With all of the injuries this team has had there is no room for a developmental TE on the roster. Sudfield has a lot of potential but it is still only potential. He needs an offseason to get stronger and more consistent. There really wasn't much of a choice but to try and sneak him onto the practice squad.

I think we should have held onto him a little longer (maybe a redshirt season) but we're talking about 2 catches here.

I really wish we drafted that Ware kid a few years ago .. Demarcus I think his first name is ..

WTF?
I simply do not know what to say about this

A guy like Sudfeld showed promise, and when they tried to sneak him to the practice squad the Jets jumped on him...

You can only protect so many players, some think this is why Boyce and a few others are still on the team, maybe not for today, but for tomorrow. Can only "redshirt" a few of them.

25 yards came on a wildcat/trick play on a pass from Cribbs. With Cumberland out, Sudfeld was their #1 tight end, and in outside of that play, he had one catch.

On the season, he has a grand total of four catches.

I'd say he's exactly where he was when the Pats let him go. Young, undeveloped, and if weren't so raw, there's no way he'd be on an NFL roster.

I knew when I saw that catch that someone would start a thread about how they wish he still in NE.

Bath salts should not be free based...

not enough room for him like others posted

If gronk stays healthy...he will do what he did yesterday plenty of times this year and years to come

I wish AHern wasn't a murderer (alleged).

I have to laugh, because when Sudfeld was on the New England roster this forum was full of people saying that the Patriots needed to cut him ASAP ... and once that happened, sure as the sun rises in the east, there is a thread bemoaning his release.

His two catches were on a pass by a WR and on a rub play that got him uncovered. He didn't really do anything well on either of those catches. Well, except catch the ball. That was also an issue in NE.

He also ran well after each catch, as did Salas.

I'm glad the kid had a couple of catches, but I really struggle with the notion that any of us, who haven't seen a single practice, haven't graded coach's tape, and really can't evaluate contributions on specials teams are in any position to question teams personnel decisions.
