Been hearing his name pop up all over EPSN on his improved play and how he is getting better and better each game and is starting to gain Tom Brady's trust, having a good chemistry taking place right before our eyes.. whats everybodies take on this. I think he has top end talent.

I think at this point its really on brady and the Oline.

Dobson can get open, but if brady focuses on gronk that way he used to focus on welker, and the oline doesnt play well, dobson isnt going to get the targets he needs to really shine. same thing for Kenbrell.

He has the height/weight/speed KT doesn't have. He has the physical attributes of an elite WR. The kid is the definition of a project. I like him a lot though.

He's on pace for: 52 receptions 648 yards and 4 TDs.

Pretty good considering he was a late 2nd round WR from Marshall. Dobson has gone from 4th on depth chart to 2nd/1st in half a season. He's clearly learning and improving.

Dobson is 22 and the most receptions/yards he had in college on a weak team was 57 receptions/689 yards. He was the third most productive WR on his own team! He's going to take time. It's a shame he's been forced into the role he has, due to our inept WR core.

Even though his targets seem to be declining with Gronk-Amendola back, I'm liking what I see from Dobson. That was a beautiful route he ran on the TD, and there was a key play where he broke from tight coverage and made the break to get exactly where Brady threw the ball. Still a rookie of course, so i don't expect only smooth sailing, but you can see that he is an NFL receiver. I still feel like, when I watch Demaryius Thomas, I see Dobson's future.

I agree, both seem to get open and get seperation with ease and against some good defensive backs too, but I think thats just a timing thing with Tom Brady. As seen in the preseason, he is still accurate and was as sharp, especially against the Bucs. Remember that thread the needle pass to Sudfeld for a TD? I think that timing and chemistry is improving and will continue to improve as they are starting to gel.

Dobson's physique and attributes reminds you of Julio Jones, A.J Green, Brandon Marshall and guys like that. I think he has those same elite characteristics.

Interesting. In my mind those guys are much taller than Dobson but The Google tells me they're all 6-3 to 6-4. Guess those veterans just "play bigger" than Dobson has so far.

I'd surmise that the role the team envisioned for him, as a situational deep threat, has been altered partially due to the O-Line's inability to block consistently, and also because the team is still in process of finding its identity. Thus, the roles still haven't been completely set in stone yet.

I'm seeing improvements from him on a weekly basis. The double-move looks like the best in his repertoire.

I've always liked him better than Thompkins

I still believe Dobson can be a top 7-12 WR and Thompkins a top 13-20 WR in the entire league.

I think Dobson is a smart talented prospect but he has a ton of work to do to turn himself into a #1 WR. He is going to have to put on weight and get much stronger, he's going to have to work on technique to free himself from press coverage, he's going to have to work on his hands relentlessly, he's got to learn how to go up after the ball and take it at it's highest point, and he's going to have to continue to work with Brady to understand where he wants him to be at all times and read defenses the same way. I think he can do all of this I just think he's really raw at this point and is obviously facing a much higher level of competition than anything he has ever come close to seeing. i doubt it will happen but would love to see them bring Randy Moss to work with him on using his size and skills to the best of his ability and to understand what Brady is looking for in varying circumstances. love the pick, think he can turn himself into a first rate WR and deep threat, he just has to work his @ss off to get to that level.

I like Boyce and Thompkins but in truth see Boyce as the better prospect long term, that said iwould love to see them go get another big wideout like Dobson in next year's draft. If Harrison can show them that he has got his head on straight enough to be that player then that's fine with me but I will have to see it to believe it.

He's been my binky despite his rookie mistakes against the Jets in week two. He has a bright future in NE.

I don't think he has the strength of those guys, those guys are downright powerful to go along with the speed and route running. Hopefully he gets a little bigger and stronger without losing speed, because he looks downright Tom Brady type of skinny.

That being said, I really think the game is slowing down for him, and he's learned a lot of his routes, therefore his talent seems to be taking over. I think he will be a 60+ catch a year type of receiver with several near pro bowl types of season. He has immense talent.

I don't see any evidence of changing Dobson's role. His production is what we hoped for, and his role is what I would have expected.

IMHO, we are getting reasonable production out of our wide receivers this year. Compare to last year, the major deficit is obviously the lack of production from the TE position.

If there is no improvement in the second half over the first, we would have a total of 342 reception compared to last year's 402.

Obviously, we expect more receptions from Gronkowski, Amendola and Vereen in the second half compared tot he first.

This may not be a great passing offense at the moment, but it is a reasonable one.

In his last 3 games Dobson has been targeted 22 times for 13 receptions, 157 yards and 1 touchdown, if he performed at that pace over a 16 game period it would equate to 117 targets for 69 receptions for 837 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns, so his current play is better than what Brandon Lloyd gave us last season. Overall I like Dobson, I think he is starting to come into his own he has not dropped a pass since the Saints game and his second half against the Dolphins was bordering on great.

Over the last few games Dobson has appeared to leap ahead of Thompkins, I don’t know if I would consider that a role change however, I think he has simply settled into that X receiver position whereas early in the season Thompkins and him would mix and match between the X and the Y. I agree though Dobson’s is exactly what I expected, at the end of the day talent is always going to rise and I think we’ve all witnessed that with Dobson and Thompkins.

The only one of them I see as a good comparison would be Green; Dobson is similar however he lacks some of the explosiveness that Green offers but overall he is a similar type of player athletically, as you would expect Green is more polished receiver as well. Jones is a lot faster and more athletic than Dobson, and Marshall is a significantly bigger player who has a much different playing style. Overall the best comparison would be Green or Demaryius Thomas and if he can develop in a poor man’s version of either of them I will be more than pleased.

Dobson is just what the Pats Coaches wanted, an outside X WR with size, who can get medium deep on occasion.

His presence nullifies the Defensive collapse to the center of field that was affecting Welker and Gtonk in the middle of the field during the Playoffs.

yeah but unfortunately our inside /center of the field passing game is gone now.

He's getting better every week which is a big deal. Both in terms of skill and trust with Brady. Expect him to be a big part of the O going forward. Then again, it could just be wishful thinking on my part because he's in my fantasy team.
