The massive contract first reported for the Thomas signing is now coming clear. He didn't sign with the Pats for huge money(60 mil as 1st reported). 35.04 mil + a 12 mil signing bonus over 5 years. I know Baltimore is cap strapped, but this is not a bad contract to swallow. In succession, beginning this year, $3.4 million, $5.4 million, $6.4 million, $9.4 million, $10.4 million. They have to be kicking themselves for not working through this. Some restructuring could have gotten it done.

Restructuing of who? They cut two big time players and still couldn't afford to franchise him.

But I don;t think AD had the same offer on the table for Baltimore that they passed on - I think they would have pounced on him at a $3.5 million cap hit for this season, and could have done so, but AD wasn't interested in that offer.

Being a team in Salary Cap hell isn't exactly condusive to winning a SB, and I think that money alone that was a factor on AD's decision .

Nope,we dont have anyone with 15 million dollar cap numbers like Peyton Manning to see any real savings if we restructured anyone.That isnt the way the Ravens operate anyway,I cant even remember the last time we had to restructure anyone.The money will be used to give Terrell Suggs a nice big bonus because he is up for FA after this year.He is 24,AD is 29 the decision wasnt hard especially since we are currently 5.5 under with no RB signed and 10 draft picks to pay.
