Loyko's not know for breaking stories, but he's been working around the Pats long enough to get some connections and I don't think he's the kind of guy to make stuff up. Heck, and at least his name is behind it, which is better than a few "sources" that have been cited lately.
We know the Patriots like Sanders, and I'd say that they could get him for less than a 3rd at this point considering Pittsburgh's record. It would also be very interesting to be the first team to play Ben after taking away his #2 receiver, and that'd most likely be Sanders' biggest contribution to the game, because I very much doubt the Pats would put Sanders on the field less than a week after trading for him.
I'd say that there's a better chance that the Pats do something than most years, but anybody hoping for a Fitzgerald or Jared Allen is going to be very disappointed.
