Just once, I'd like to see Brady work with someone like Moss. If BB thinks he can motivate the guy and if the price is affordable, I say go for it. He is NOT worth a first-round pick, however.

It depends on what we have to give up and his numbers. If it cost us a #1 and 8-9million cap hit, I say no. But do believe if it is reasonable, he could be neutralized in this franchise. Do not see this team putting up with a lot of his crap, and business will be taken care of. Cannot tantrum without an audience.

Not a big difference between Moss and Dillon to me. For all the nice talk about Dillon around here, he gave us a great year then took a couple years off. Sure there were some legit injuries - but he also took himself out of the game every time he has 2 or 3 straight carries. Maybe I'm being too hard on Dillon but after 2004, he was no different from the Moss you see taking plays off when he feels like it.

Do I want Moss ? Probably not. But the Patriots going after Welker and, seemingly, being interested in Stallworth and Moss speaks VOLUMES about Caldwell and Gaffney.

I don't think Corey took a couple of years off at all. Rather, years of being the only offensive weapon on a poor, poor team, and being beaten down as a result, took their toll. The man was hurt. He had clearly lost a step, and he still played with passion and heart. Would you rather he stay in the game fatigued, when there were multiple options on the bench to replace him and contribute? I think that takes a strong realization to do, and I won't knock Corey's character on the Pats at all.

You may be right. My gut pointed my opinion in the other direction - but I may be WAY OFF.

However, when you say fatigued, it was Dillon who took himself out after 2 or 3 runs. Should he have been fatigued ? I think not. Now we release him because his role was to be diminished in favor of Maroney - and yet, on the field Dillon always seemed fine to come off the field by his own choosing.

Again I may be completely wrong. But my gut didn't get a good feeling about Dillon.

I honestly don’t understand why people hate Randy Moss so much. He might not have been an ideal team guy in Oakland, but give me a break. That was probably one of the single most dysfunctional teams I’ve ever seen.

If anything, given Moss’s history, he seemed like he was on good behavior to me. Yeah, he might have said some minor negative comments on the radio, but that was nothing given what he likely could have said. And I’m sure that stuff was pulled out of him by an agenda driven host.

I recall two years ago when Moss was on the block how he talked effusively about wanting to play for BB. And I know I’ve read some BB glowing reviews about Moss.

If the price is right, this is beyond a no-brainer. I certainly don’t want NE to throw down huge $$ for him, but if Moss is willing to re-structure, give the guy an incentive-laden deal and roll the dice.

I'm just going by what I've heard in the past from Tommy- he seemed to like Dillon and was always very complementary of him. That leads me to believe that watching Corey run, when he was noticeably slower, the physical toll was more than most people had thought prior to this season. Regarding the release, I think it's more a matter of the team feeling it's time for Maroney to take over, and go in a different direction with the backup roles. I think it's the best decision for all. If anything, the read I got from Corey was that he was frustrated that he couldn't do more physically. Perhaps he'll have more success elsewhere. I don't know.

Because it wasn't just Oakland. He seems like the anti Pattriot. It's all about him and not the team. I say "no thank you".

I'm going to go ahead and vote "no" on this guy, and it really has nothing to do with any "character" issues.

Moss' game has always been all about athletic ability. He's not known for his routes or ability to read defenses -- he's freakishly fast, tall, and makes amazing catches. These are the kind of receivers whose value rapidly diminishes once they can no longer rely on their athletic gifts... and that time may have come for Moss.

He's been slowed by injury in 2 of his last 3 years, and the types of injuries he's had -- ankle, hamstring, groin -- don't bode well for future durability. I think the chances are good that he's played his last season as an elite NFL WR... and though Moss at 75% would probably still be 50% better than anybody the Pats have at WR now, it just wouldn't be worth it at the price -- in terms of both contract and compensation for the Raiders -- that we'd have to give up.

The real question is, do we have the veteran leadership to keep Moss in line? We do not need him infecting the clubhouse with his brand of play. If Willy was here, he would make that clear to him immediately. Is there someone now who will do that? I think Rodney will, but is there anyone else on offense? Moss will need to be constantly reminded how to play Patriots football every game, every play, every interview.

Is he worth the risk, I don't know. But remember this, he wasn't just a jerk for the Raiders. He was also a jerk for the Vikings too. He was so good there he made Cullpepper look good. And they still got rid of him. And this is the team that had an orgy at sea. And he couldnt get along there.
