The first 45 people who can walk through the locker room come on down.

Players with significant chance of not playing
Gronk
Talib
Slater
Leon Washington
Kelly
Amendola
Connolly

Not to mention the walking wounded Edelman, McCourty and others.

Seriously, this is as thin as the Patriots have ever been.

Thankfully it is the Jets.

Its laughable now to think about P. Manning whinning about injuries after week 2. Never hear that from Brady or any other Patriot

The choke master didn’t seem to complain when he got his season opener at home instead of ON THE ROAD, and then 10 days until Week 2…. God, I hate that ****svcker.

There is no question that this team is beat up at the moment, with Wilfork and Mayo being down for the count.

This team is by no means sunk, however. Many key pieces are slated to return this season.

On offense, chemistry is getting better each and every week between Brady and the rookie WRs. Gronkowski should be back soon, and Vereen will return in week 11. If the offensive line can improve even a little in pass protection then this offense could explode. It won't be 07 Patriots or 13 Broncos level of elite, but it will be a very respectable offense, one that should be able to carry the defense in some games.

On defense, the big players missing (that are not on IR) are Kelly and Talib. With the next 3 games being @ Jets, vs Dolphins, vs Steelers, and then the bye week, I think the Patriots can afford to sit them and allow a suitable recovery time. Speculation on my part, but Kelly probably has a knee sprain, and Talib has a minor hip flexor. 3 games plus the bye week is a month of rest; that should be ample time. Additionally, Armond Armstead could come off the NFI list at any point in these next few weeks, and he could certainly be an upgrade over the likes of Forston, Vellano, Jones, Neblett.

Until then, the defense is still good enough to get by. Run defense is not at the level this team usually is at, but the secondary is holding up it's end, and will continue to do so even without Talib.

From the article:

"— it’s nice of the NFL to give Philly 12 days [10, really] and give us six,” Manning said (via CSN Philadelphia) of the Broncos’ home game Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Also, it's nice of the NFL to have the Colts AND the Patriots play Monday Night games on the road (Indy on the West Coast) before playing the Broncos the following Sunday night.

Yeah I don't see how we make a serious playoff run right now. Losing Mayo was a killer.. just a killer. 10x more impact than losing an aging Wilfork.

They were both killer. Wilfork was obviously injured before the season even started.

I get it, you're sick of hearing about the greatness of the New England Patriots.

That's fine, even understandable. But love them or hate them, what they're doing this season is really impressive.

Take any NFL team. Eliminate a borderline Hall-of-Fame receiver, two of the five most talented tight ends in the NFL, then add in a long-term injury to a key running back, and on-and-off injuries to a starting running back and top remaining receiver. That's what happened to New England with Wes Welker, Aaron Hernandez, Rob Gronkowski, Shane Vereen, Steven Ridley and Danny Amendola. Oh, and defensive MVP Vince Wilfork is out for the rest of the season too. Most teams would experience a drastic drop without all those players.

And here the Patriots are, 5-1 and coming off a home win against the previously undefeated Saints. That's amazing. And yet, through the season's first six weeks, most of the talk surrounding the Patriots has been about how much they've struggled.

Because everyone has Patriots fatigue, we're not celebrating what an incredible story it is. But we will celebrate them here, because they're going to be even tougher to beat once they're healthy. For some reason, the fact that they'll add one of the best players in the NFL (Gronkowski) and a multi-threat running back (Vereen) to the lineup soon has been mostly ignored when analyzing the Patriots. And a defense that has played very well most of this season hasn't gotten much attention either. Bill Belichick is doing some of his best work this season, and that's saying something.

As I keep saying, I know you want the Patriots' dynasty to be over, but that doesn't mean they're going away quite yet.
