In other words, credibility speaks for itself regardless of whatever image or impression one "wants" to portray. I come to this forum to escape things like postseason baseball and the looming federal budget default. We have other forums expressly devoted to such matters. Why should they encroach on this forum when there's ample space for those topics to be embraced both on- and off-site? It's bad enough on television when every single time Brady's incredible game-winning drive is brought up we also have to hear about Big Poopi's grand salami. Not everyone cares about the Bankofamericasox.

I like all 4 of our sports teams so if something special happens for any of them I like to read and interact no matter what forum it's on.

I don't see the big deal of one small thread front and center on this forum to appreciate a significant accomplishment.

Congrats to the sox!!

I tried to watch but it was a bit painful

Batter gets up and strikes out, another batter up strikes out, another batter up strikes out, another batter up hits fly ball catch and out. Man gotta go for a walk, this is tiring. Come back, another batter up hit double play 2 outs another batter up strikes out, game over.

Glad they won, I'll only watch during the post season with the Fam and stick to football...

Can I play this game too? How about South Park and Breaking Bad? I hate those things too as much as you hate baseball, but I can't avoid them. Not even here. Except I don't make endless posts *****ing about them every time they appear.

I'm very well aware of that fact and I'm sure the thread will be moved by the mods to the baseball/Sox forum, so y'all can rest easy at the restoration of order to the universe. rolleyes I'm not advocating bringing Red Sox stuff here, since it's pretty well established that this is a Pats forum. I just think... the 10/13 twinbill of excitement was an exception (IMO, of course) because they fused the two teams together and a lot of fans had an incredible day of sports euphoria with two epic come from behind wins. That doesn't happen every day. So I see nothing wrong with talking about them here. But, yeah, nobody likes off topic stuff not matter what it is...but there's no getting around that this is the internet so off topic stuff will come up eventually.

To each his or her own in terms of sports likes and dislikes... I just don't get why some people have to be so d-baggy about it.

You've posted about a billion times in the Jets suck thread, which (thankfully) remains in the Patriots portion of the forum despite the fact that it, theoretically, belongs in the NFL forum.

I think it's pretty silly to be so anal about it. Sure it technically belongs in the Sox forum, but when people get up in arms like it's dirtying the Patriots forum it's just kind of stupid.

Hey, I'm with you on the blatant "Breaking Bad" intrusion -- doesn't belong here any more than my OT updates on the Wayland Ladies Auxiliary Croquet Team. But I don't recall seeing a "South Park" thread here. Personally, I believe that anyone who doesn't like "South Park" should be forced to watch baseball games from start to finish as punishment -- especially ones called by sleep merchant Tim McCarver.

(FYI, they're called the Bankofamericasox because that's where they buy their championships.)
