Tedy Bruschi will be back to play next season.

“There’s never been any decision. I never had a doubt. I’m coming back,” said Bruschi last night at the Intercontinental Hotel in Boston where he received the Wish Hero Award from the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Mass.

“I’m ready to play,” the veteran linebacker said, squelching talk that he may retire. “I’m more hungry now than I’ve ever been.”

Bruschi also was excited about playing with prize free agent linebacker Adalius Thomas, who signed with the Pats yesterday.

Reiss mentioned in his mailbag late in the season (or maybe on a chat) that he thought his role would change somewhat moving forward.

Awwww the poor wittle tom-kitty is going to feel out of sorts.

:woohoo: Tedy!!!

Sweet. Our LB core is looking awesome now.

I didn't even know Bruschi's status was still up in the air.

In any case we're glad to have you back Bru!

He put it in question right after the Colts game but I think as time went on rumors were he was coming back and I definitely thought he would return but now you have it from him.

Let me be the first to say our linebackers should be going Full Tilt All Day

Tedy is the heart and soul of the defense...He must be thrilled about his new team mate.....

Can this day get any better?:woohoo: :eat3: :eat1:

The funny part is "I never had any doubt". This whole Bruschi retiring thing is a totally made up story. It's part of the speculation/rumor mill that if it goes unchallenged, as this one did till now, somehow becomes accepted as fact. The accepted fact list may or may not contain the following: BB is leaving for the Giants next year, Bob Kraft is going to raffle off half the team to some lucky fan, and Brady is the real farther of Anna Nicole's child.

This signing is so good, because we do not have to rely on a core group as much as we did last year.. if Seau comes back and we draft a young LB this rotation will be awesome, cannot imagine the fits it would give to D coordinator if we go with some very innovative defensive sets. If you are a QB and look over and see Thomas as a down lineman, with Bruschi, Seau, Vrabel and Colvin.. along with our D lineman, not sure how you would scheme for it. This defense is gonna be awesome.

good news - i'm happy too he will be back !

Grande Tedy !!!

Sooner, I've been meaning to ask...who is pf1996?

In a sense, signing AD helps Bruschi extend his playing career. If we don't get some major help at LB this offseason, through injury or overworked frustration, if I'm Bruschi I have major second thoughts about playing next year.

Now I wouldn't even rule out Bruschi playing in 2008

that's terrible! the guy is awful now. just pathetic. had he made one stinking play against the colts we're in the super bowl. he was outplayed by old man seau all year. please reconsider teddy, do the right thing for the team and retire!

Seau was great before he got injured. You dont seem to have a clue how hard he worked to be the key in our brilliant run stopping.

Here's a clue. Do not, I repeat DO NOT attend training camp this summer. Mrs B will find that tiny pair and rip them off.

FULL TILT FULL TIME PLUS ALL DAY!!!

Gotta love it!

You are so off on this. Bru is the heart of our team played well all year with a cast and you dog him for one half of football that he played with the flu. Why not get rid of brady while your at it if he got a first down we may have won if he doesnt throw the pic we may have won. Please, they lost that game as a team for you to say it was all on bruschi is just plain stupid.

Now if you want to say that Teddy has lost a step and maybe isnt quite the same than I think that is reasonable but you are way overboard on this.
