from what i saw he has no gas left in the tank. i'd take soon to be 40 jr seau coming off injury before i'd take bruschi. teddy was no where to be found in the playoff loss to the colts, especially on the all important TD run up the middle to his side on the colts game winning drive

that was a run blitz that hit the wrong gaps. fair to say the entire defense was gassed at that point. we can all say he has trouble in coverage like al the lb's

Brushi was playing his old position until Seau went down. Then he had to move back over. If Vrabel is lined up inside, then Bruschi will be on the strong side, with Vrabel on the weak side. However, we could see Thomas lined up on the strong side with Bruschi on the weak and Vrabel on the edge.

so the question is..... is this the most effective way to use AD? or would it benefit the pats to try to find someone in th draft who can play the strong ILB or bring back Seau?

Very cliche but I think we will see a rotation at all the LB positions to exploit their flexibility.

- OLB Rotation would include Thomas, Colvin & Vrabel
- ILB Rotation would include Bruschi, Vrabel, Thomas, YET TO BE DETERMINED ILB, and a little bit of Alexander on some 3rd downs

Goal is to keep 3 of the 4 top LBs on the field for most snaps.

ummm ok, then where was he the rest of the plays? he had a paltry 4 tackles and 1 assist. pathetic performance from an inside linebacker against a team that consistently ran up the middle.

depends who it is. i tend to think defensive signal calling isn't too difficult. reality is most defensive players make calls for themselves by keying on their man. but you could always bring back seau if you think it's that hard. for those paying attention he totally outplayed bruschi prior to getting hurt.

I tend to think you have no idea how complex this defense is. Bruschi is the signal caller, Vrabel has the smarts to do it. It takes years to call defensive plays from the LB position in BB's defense. Regardless of how athletic AD is, we don't want him calling the signals right away.

that is a very ridiculous thing to say that playcalling isn't too difficult. what happens if players go in motion or totally shift?

there are so many adjustments, reads, switching spots and the consensus in the league is that BB defense is complicated.
