Does anyone know what the patriots cap number will be after all of these signings?

Probably wont have a real handle on things till at least tomorrow. The details of the contracts need to be divulged to the league, then cap numbers can be assessed.

Well, After the Kyle Brady Signing and the updates to the salaries for Wilson, Chad Scott, Ty Warren, and Reche Caldwell, the Pats were 17.2 million under the cap.

Until the structures of the contracts for Adalius Thomas and Wes Welker and Sammie Morris are known, there is no way to be able to guess.

Does that count the additional 3.8M or whatever it was that was posted by Adamtj13?

i would bet miami takes every minute to decide on welker so you will have to wait a week and btw a 2nd round pick for an undrafted free agent thanks

We freed up 2.5 Million for Dillon.. correct?

What will we free up next year for dillon another 2m?

I wonder if the Fins will finish 3rd or 4th in the AFC east next season..

The way it looks now: About 45 cents and a couple of Subway tokens. :rocker:

Miguel says a Charlie pass with the total value that would allow you to travel from Sullivan Sq. to Cleveland Cir.....;)

It's fair to say that if Welker lands in New England, they'll only be looking at guys at or near the veteran minimum from here on out.

Fifth! They cant compete with the old Baltimore team, either!;) Nuthin like coming in 5th in a 4 man race!

I dont expect anything big from now on out. Ready for the Draft.

 But seriously, have you guys ever, ever seen this team mis-manage against the cap? Just my throw a dart at it guess, but I'm betting we end up somewhere around 10 or 11 mil under. Just a guess.

* I guess it may depend on how you define big. I don't think Morris and Brady are big. Thomas is and Welker might be if the supposed offer sheet is correct -:) IMO, that's be over paying unless there's something we don't know in it. I'm not sue wat's left for cap space but it could still be a good amount. There may be more up BBioli's sleeve.

Would take a WAG and say $6 - $8 Millon left.

Supposedly the Pats had $20 mil after Samuel Tagged - $7 mil for Thomas - $2.5 mil for Brady - $1.5 mil for Morris - $3 mil for Welker = $6 mil left

Chances are Tomas deal is much less than the average of the contract, I'd guess about 4m-5mill.
We have the ability to resign Asante and save a bunch, and I believe there is a lot of room to save on Bradys deal by resturcturing (it was done before the new CBA with stricter limitations) but we can choose to do that now or later.

I think we still have plenty of room (the rookie class will probably cost less than 2 mill) to do what BB feels is needed. However when you look at this roster where would you go to fnd a 'top dollar' FA need?

Except that isn't really what it is. You can't take the averages like you did for Thomas, Morris and Welker. Until the official numbers come out, we won't know.

I expect that your conclusion is about right.
But having nothing to do with Welker's offer sheet/contract.

Stop and think.
A SEVEN-year deal?
For, what? 40 mil, plus or minus?

OF COURSE, the first 3 or 4 years are whatever Welker's agent and the Pats' f/o
agree is right, fair, and competitive market value.
The remaining years are bogus maxima ...
which become guaranteed, however,
if Welker plays, say, 4 regular season games in Miami ... in any season.[/
