* I guess it may depend on how you define big. I don't think Morris and Brady are big. Thomas is and Welker might be if the supposed offer sheet is correct - IMO, that's be over paying unless there's something we don't know in it. I'm not sue wat's left for cap space but it could still be a good amount. There may be more up BBioli's sleeve.

Chances are Tomas deal is much less than the average of the contract, I'd guess about 4m-5mill.
We have the ability to resign Asante and save a bunch, and I believe there is a lot of room to save on Bradys deal by resturcturing (it was done before the new CBA with stricter limitations) but we can choose to do that now or later.

I think we still have plenty of room (the rookie class will probably cost less than 2 mill) to do what BB feels is needed. However when you look at this roster where would you go to fnd a 'top dollar' FA need?

Except that isn't really what it is. You can't take the averages like you did for Thomas, Morris and Welker. Until the official numbers come out, we won't know.

But having nothing to do with Welker's offer sheet/contract.

For, what? 40 mil, plus or minus?

OF COURSE, the first 3 or 4 years are whatever Welker's agent and the Pats' f/o
agree is right, fair, and competitive market value.
The remaining years are bogus maxima ...
which become guaranteed, however,
if Welker plays, say, 4 regular season games in Miami ... in any season.[/COLOR]
