With all the current QB questions for teams like the Browns, Bucs, Bills and more, do you think there's a chance Mallett will be traded? I know we have no viable back up but we could probably overcome that.

Mallet hasn't shown enough in his limited/preseason reps to warrant a player or pick that would represent help. So I'm going to have to say no trade.

And you can't judge his ability based on the turn out of Cassell and Hoyer.

No
Just no
Think!

The Pats make a lot of player moves--even each week.

But they rarely make trades. And it wd seem pretty pointless to pick up a 4th round pick at best just because you trust some other qb who is currently available. It just doesn't seem like BB's way at all.

I'd say there's about a .3% chance of happening yet this season, and that .3% happened when the Vikings acquired Freeman, in theory making Cassel available for a trade as the new backup. But don't get me wrong, I still think there's next to no chance he's traded this season.

Hell no...the way brady is playing they may NEED to turn to Mallett to save the season...yes, I said it...in before the CL Philharbawkic Orchestra..

Mallet and Mulligan for Phil Taylor. Who says No?!

we'd be lucky to get a 7th. What exactly has he shown?

Hey guys, with all of the problems the Lions are having let's offer Mallett for Suh and Calvin Johnson.

How? He's the only backup here. You can't trade him. There's no way you can bring in a guy off the street and have him ready to play in a week, which is what you'd have to do.

That's why I'm amazed that not only have they only had two QBs on the 53 recently, they've not even bothered with a PS QB.

Well, it worked last year. I don't recall for sure, but I don't think there was a QB on the PS last year either. Apparently there weren't any rookie FAs they liked enough.

Lets be honest, this team is so reliant on Brady that if he's out we're losing anyway.

Without Tom Brady this team is a worse Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

No, they would be better than that. They'd still finish with a winning record.

And how much difference did he make yesterday? Its not like he was with out blame. I didn't see much leadership, I saw a hung head and an eruption waiting to happen. Gisele have any extra make up on today?

Seriously though, that performance was as much on him as it was any one else. End of the half, Dobson had a few steps went to edes (?) Instead, lead Dobson and hit him in stride instead if throwing it to the pile on and maybe that doesn't get knocked away (great d on an underthrown ball), hit amendola in stride and we have seven instead of 3 (still wanted them to go for it). O yeah, don't under throw you're intended reciever by at least ten yardss and maybe you get a few more chances at the end of the game. How about all the $hitty checkdowns to start that "2 minute drill" (not sure I'd call it that)? Wtf would they have accomplished? O, dont forget letting the play clock run down to what, 7 seconds on fourth?

He certainly isn't the only one carrying share of the blame, but he certainly isn't free of it.

A lot of people shared your sentiment a few minutes into the 08 season. As I recall they had a damn fine season, albeit just missing the play offs with ten wins.

Edited due to autocorrect's everpresent ability to make me come off as hammered.

This was the Colts' philosophy when they had Manning. It led them to a 2-14 season and the #1 pick in the draft....which turned into Andrew Luck....hey maybe you're on to something ;)

1.) I keep seeing this "X was wide open" trope. It doesn't matter if he is wide open. Brady and most top QBs don't look for receivers - they check where they are SUPPOSED to be and if they aren't there or are covered move on to the next receiver. This isn't backyard football.

2.) I don't know how you even have the gall to compare anything going on this year to Cassel and 2008.

3.) Amendola had played only a half with Brady before this game. I don't know how you expect them to have perfect timing and chemistry yet.

But seriously, how much of a difference? Brady has dragged this offense to 4-1, it's a miracle they're scoring anything.

You are mistakenly assuming that there was anything Brady could do in that rain. He did what he could, which was nothing.

1) like suds was the read and he tried to force it into double coverage instead of moving to a secondary read/throw away a few weeks back?

2) you're telling me the reactions wouldn't be the same? I'll admit it, I thought the season was over. Cant remember who I was watching with but we pretty much said it together after seeing the replay. This year would be no different. Who is to say Mallet wouldn't have just as much I'd a chance to make a play off push if the offense gets healthy and the receivers progress?

3) amendola was clearly still hobbled a bit. Occsdionally you could see the awkward step. He was WIDE OPEN. TB missed him.

I don't expect things to be perfect. I just keep seeing all this receiver bashing, when in reality everybody on the offensive side of the ball came out of the tunnel and took a huge dump on my television. Period.

Sciz, rain or no, I'm sure there are plenty of other examples of brady miscues throughout the game.

Maybe he needs to go back to the glove in weather?
