Prior to Randy Moss, Tom Brady would look first for the quick outs/slants during 2-min situations. That was how he was able to get the team to the AFC championship game with receivers named Reche (sp?) Caldwell and Jabar Gaffney. After playing with Moss, Brady almost always looks for the home-run first. Its not always a bad thing as long as you have the time and the receivers.

I'm not bashing Brady. I love him of course, just as we all do. This is just something I have noticed ever since Moss joined the team. Don't get me wrong, I loved it in '07 with all the deep balls to Moss, it was exciting! I'd love to have that again. However as today showed, and imo many games the past few years, when we seem to be in a do or die situation (thankfully not that many!) brady takes far more shots downfield than he used to prior to Moss. Thats not always bad of course, as long as you have receivers like Randy Moss. However, TB could have easily gotten a 3-6 yard completions and kept trying to get the first instead of the instant TD which imo wasted a down.

I know weather played a huge factor today and even short passes would be difficult to throw/catch, and it is because of that I was a bit curious why TB kept going for the long ball. For those who are going to say I'm screaming the sky is falling, I am not. I'm just making an observation.

I thought it was Giselle that ruined him? Before her, he was chasing ***** and championships and winning at both. Now he is contempt because he has rings and the #1 super model locked down....

:bricks:

hmm does, moore, colston, meachum, sproles, thomas, graham, ruin Brees ?

Brady made Moss, not the other way around

If Tom Brady could've easily done something on a consistent basis he would've.

Sorry Pherein, Moss was already an all-star before he joined Brady. Brady didn't make Moss, Moss made Moss. Unless you're saying his Oakland days negate his Vikings days.

People Need to understand that Tom Brady is not washed up, over the hill, done, seeing ghosts, slow, weaker arm, or whatever. He is just coming off one of his best seasons and is simply Adjustng to the changes around him. No qb in the NFL lost his entire offense including 4 game changing stars and is still 4-1

yup...all mosses fault..you should work for one of the networks

He looks for the home run ( if that is even true) because he can't move the chains consistently with this crew.

And if Dobson caught that bomb after the turnover, would you still be posting this?

Did you think when Brady was throwing to Edelman a few weeks back (something like 13 catches for 78 yards) that was more conducive to winning?

This post said nothing about TB losing his touch or being over the hill or anything like that. Its actually agreeing with you in that TB needs to adjust to all the new receivers and he can't just sling it like he used even just last year.

No im saying a DL is usless with out a good DC. That many great QB's died drafed by the browns, and a WR is only as good as his QB. Stick Moss on JAC and see his numbers for those years.

I think we see a indecisive Tom. Tape reveals the rooks get wide open deep and he has missed them open through his progressions/reads. So I think he has trouble, do I hit a closer player or see if they open up deeper. Tom has no issues making throws, but I think he hasn't adjusted to the rooks completely yet. Which will take time. It's time we really don't have, but its gonna take time.

But one of mosses great qualities was slowing down or speeding up to get right in line with the pass. Or IMO. He could always seem to be right there for the pass.

All I am trying to say that prior to Moss, Brady would methodically move down the field in small chunks during the 2-min. He almost never tried to go for it all and waste a down, but since Moss he almost always looks for the long bomb when there is little time left.

Well back in the day, Refs wouldn't be so generous throwing out flags and giving 40 yards on a cheap PI.

Some of these deep routes with the QB under throwing the WR are almost drawn up to get a flag rather than a catch.

Forget it. I thought I'd try to voice something I'd observed and get a thoughtful discussion about it, however its clear saying anything negative (sad part is that I wasn't even trying to be negative!) means I'm stupid or mental. You've made me realize why I hardly ever post here.

It would seem that Brady did fine in 2012 (with one of his TE's out in almost all games) and his #3 WR out for almost the entire season. Brady did fine with Welker, Lloyd and almost nothing from Branch.

So, sure Brady would liked to have a deep threat like Moss in 2012, and in every other year that Moss wasn't here.

Whilst I believe Brady has had a reasonably poor start to the season given his capability (I think he's feeling the pressure of having to play perfectly to make up for the deficiencies on O) shotty line play, questionable play calling from McDaniels and skill position players dropping easy balls are the problem, not Randy Moss.

Good grief. Brady has had lousy seasons since 2010? Brady plays with the pieces he has, and he is actually coached (contrary to popular belief that he just goes on the field and wings it).

Last week he is back on track. Now he is a train wreck because he played with a receiver that last played for the Pats in 2010? Step away from the keyboard, take a few days for yourself to get over the loss, and then return to offer your thoughts after you have had some time to self-censor yourself.
