I dont know man, gonzalez is rising after the combine .. and he is even starting to impress me

He had a good 40 time, but I think they can trade that #28 pick to stockpile for the future and still land Gonzalez early to mid 2nd round.

I have to say, I think that's one of the better overall mocks I've seen. Gonzales vs. Reggie Nelson, though...hmm...

I agree, I think it was very well done. I know about that comparison man, I was thinking the exact same thing

I would take Gonzo over Nelson everyday of the week. I have some serious doubts about Nelson's game.

Will we need or still draft Gonzalez if we land Welker in RFA?

This mock is good, but not great.

Positives:

Good picking strategy throughout, all teams are making relatively smart position picks for where they are at.

I really like the Carriker pick at #11 with the 49ers. It's original and it makes sense.

Amobi Okoye fits with the Steelers, he could probably play 3-4 DE or 4-3 DT.

Ben Grubbs is a solid selection at #31 with the Bears.

I like the Woodley pick at the bottom of the second.

Negatives:

#5 is way too high for Levi Brown.

The Texans aren't going to take Quinn with Branch and Landry on the board.

Charles Johnson is going lower than #13.

Dwayne Jarrett and Ted Ginn are both better than Robert Meachem.

Chris Houston shouldn't be the #2 cornerback off the board.

Gonzalez is a good pick, but I would select Nelson over him at that point.

#32 is extremely high for Jon Beason

Daymeion Hughes and Arron Sears both go pretty early based on their Combine performance.

The Falcons won't select two safeties in the first two rounds (though a Meriweather/Landry secondary would be pretty awesome).

I wouldn't take Willis over Revis @ 24. No knock on Gonzalez, but gotta go with Nelson. That would be a dream round one for me.

After the FA signings there is absolutely now way that we don't a DB in round one. If we do not trade one of our #1s - we will take TWO DBs. Please make a note of this.

Noted. :D ...

Why? so we can cut one after TC?

Except if Welker is acquired, we won't have that option. I think Gonzo II is a slight reach at #28, but one I'd would happily make.

Based on who's available, I'd opt for Revis and Gonzo. It is one of the better mocks I've seen, though.

If we so get Welker, I would look to trade down #28. TB may be interested and I heard that AZ may also be interested if the right guy for them is around a #28.

With AZ we could get a 2nd and 3rd and possably a 3rd for next year. But it's way too early in the game to hang hats on trades.

I'd trade #28 straight up for Arizona's #1 in 2008. Talk about a good chance to win the lottery :D
